A chocolate orange and it's all mine!

My son gave me a chocolate orange when we were in Melbourne. Have you had one of these? It is dark chocolate and orange-flavoured. It breaks up into segments like an orange. Do you know of them and/or like them? If I hadn’t already eaten half of it, the orange paper would be lovely and smooth within the packet but it looks a bit depleted now. In other news, we’ve just been asked back to mind Dixie, the border collie, and Jimmy, the cockatoo, for two weeks in August. Another house-sit to look forward to.

Thank goodness you aren't trying to make us all eat part of it! GROSS! Pretty loves those things and I really dislike them. It's a waste of good chocolate to add orange flavoring to it. I think you and Vince could have full-time jobs housesitting for people if you tried.

@JudyEv I'm glad you like the orange chocolate candy. I don't... Oh, wow! That would make for a very nice way to live, in my opinion. Eventually I'd get tired of going from house to house all the time, though.

@DaddyEvil I think that could happen. I'm hoping it does in my case in a way. Then I'd be happy to stay put.

I think 'gross' is a bit harsh. I'm glad Vince doesn't like them. All the more for me! We know a lady who doesn't have a house, has all her things in storage and house-sits basically full-time.

Maybe you should try one one day. It's cute how you have to whack it on a table to make the segments split.

@JudyEv I see these often at IGA. I recently tried the ones you get in the bag. So cute with the little slices of "orange" lol I didn't really like them though. I remember I used to eat Jaffas when I was little but didn't like them anymore one day. Not sure if they are still around actually. That was nice of your son to give you one. Really nice you've got another house sitting job in August.

When we were there he also gave me a bag of the loose segments but they are long gone. I'm wondering if I ate too many as my lips are going funny and a bit puffy. I'm sure it's nothing. It might be the toothpaste.

@JudyEv oh no! I hope your lips are better now! If ever I have too many lollies my tongue starts to hurt. And sometimes I keep going anyway when they taste too good.

I got one or two in my stocking over the years. I was watching a YouTube video where the kids opening their stockings received a chocolate orange chocolate BAR, not in the shape of an orange. Kind of takes the fun out of it.

You can buy the segments loose now too. But you're right - the fun is in the shape and in tapping it so it falls apart.

In my younger days, I received these but didn't know they could be broken into segments . I normally do not like fruit and chocolate taste together, but I do enjoy these (but haven't in years!). Is it all gone now?
