I am going to challenge myself to do something.

I have all these cookbooks gathering dust on the top shelf of my pantry. I never use them, and I should, or give them away. I almost always get a recipe online when I want one, or on ocassion ask my mother about something. I am going to make one recipe per week out of one of the cookbooks I have. I will go in rotation. Do you ever use any of your old cookbooks?

I own alot of cookbooks also. There are a few that I would not want to part with, for sentimental reasons. Many I should post online to see if I can sell them as a bundle for a few dollars each.

Possibly, but most people have the same dilemma when it comes to cookbooks I think,. One of mine belonged to my grandmother and has her handwriting in, so that is a sentimental one for sure.

@snowy22315 You should hold on to that one. I have a stack that I have bought over the years to help support fund raisers. They mean nothing to me and I never use them. I should see if there is a woman's shelter that could use them, sometimes their clients need to start over from scratch and they may appreciate them.

@Juliaacv That's an idea. I thought you would be busy with the twins today.

I like looking for them online because you can usually find just what you want. I am always looking for recipes that don't take a lot of ingredients and are highly rated.

@snowy22315 I look online, then I go to my books and I check the recipe in my book. Most of the time one I find in the book is better.

I've thought about doing this but have never got around to it. I still have quite a few cookbooks but I did get rid of a lot when we moved.

I did get rid of a couple of the smaller ones, and I need to get rid of the ones that call for a boatload of ingredients. I am never going to make those.

@snowy22315 I put a lot aside to give away then asked Vince to go through that pile and keep any he wanted. Mostly he uses internet recipes too now.

I bought one maybe 3 years ago. I looked at it, but have never made anything out of it. That is going to be remedied.

No real need for them, but if I am going to keep them, I should use them, and not just have them gathering dust.

We have started decluttering and I've seen some of mother's recipes in old notebooks. I tore selected pages and plan to scan them and send to my siblings.

I also have a lot of cookbooks but I will not part with some of them as they have some of the recipes that my grandmother used in the 1800 and have passed them down and they will continue to be passed down to the next generation

I need my Rodale cookbook cause it has goodies in it like recipes for carrot cake and fruitcake. My Mom's cookbook stays with me then some day goes with my daughter.

I am going to see if my grandmother's cookbook has her baked bean recipe in there. Everyone always raved about her baked beans. My mother's baked beans were good as well, but my grandmother's were super.
