Do you like guests?

Good day friends
It's raining again today and the weather is really awful, but considering that it's January and we have snow and minuses at this time, this is still good.
Yesterday, my brother came again with the children, left them and went home today, saying that he had some obligations. Many here know my relationship with my brother, as well as with his children. Helena is now 5 years old, and David is 3 years old. Really, last night we played until midnight, because yesterday was the New Year. But I try not to be as available to them as I used to be, because I'm tired.
Do you have relatives or guests that you do not want to stay with you for a long time?

I love my brother, but he is such a negative person and seems depressed all the time, so I can only handle spending a few hours with him at most. I would not be able to survive him visiting me for a couple of days. It would drive me crazy. But on the other hand, he loves my children and he always seems at his happiest when he gets to spend time with them.

I absolutely understand you. My brother is also terribly negative, but the biggest problem is that he enjoys provoking and humiliating others. I'm not sure that my brother loves my child very much, but I'm sure he knows how much I love his children. And I noticed that he didn't like that his children liked me.

@Nevena83 I'm glad you love his children so much, and that they love you. They probably crave your love because they are not getting the love they need from their father.

@moffittjc Yes, you're probably right. But because of the situation with him, I can't enjoy their love. How are your daughters?

I'm glad you still see Helena and David. They're older than the last time I remember.
I can't have anyone stay with me because I'm on Housing. I don't mind. I like it this way. I have friends over occasionally, and I like that a lot.

I don't have a lot of visitors. When someone does come to visit, I enjoy their company since I know their time with me is short. A few hours is fine with me. Perhaps an overnight visit but not long term. I like my solitude. I love my grand-kids but it is nice when I have my freedom to come and go as I please.

I like more to have a friend as a guest than a relative. I liked to host my Mom for a few days, but after a while she was very demanding and I was exhausted by the end of the day. Try not to rest, the kids are grown up, they can play by themselves now.

Pretty and I have stopped letting people into our home. We don't want "company" coming over anymore. We stay home and leave the rest of the family alone and think they should leave us alone. (My sister is the exception to that. She comes over, visits for an hour and then leaves again. We can handle that.)

@Nevena83 I agree... I miss having friends over but don't want to catch anything from them. My friends don't trust the Covid vaccinations. So I can't trust my friends. I just talk with them on the phone or send text messages to them.

@DaddyEvil Does that mean you're afraid you might get the virus?

@Shivram59 My father always did that too and I remember when I was a kid, it really annoyed me because he demanded silence.

Yes, there are some relatives who I dislike having to stay at our house for an extended period of time. I just stay in my room until they leave.

I pretty much hate and guest unless that guest is a dog.

I absolutely agree with you. I never liked sleeping over at someone's house.
