I have been so hungry for biscuits since I’ve worked to get my glucose down. Now my numbers are good and I can eat bread if I don’t over do it. So yesterday I made a pan of biscuits. It’s been so long since I last made biscuits, but I sifted out a bowl of flour, made a circle in the middle, put in a tablespoon of baking powder, added fourth a cup of cooking oil and a cup of milk. I put my fingers in and mixed it all together with the flour to make a thick dough. Then pinched off chunks of dough to roll out the biscuits, one at a time in my hands. I baked them about twenty minutes and they were done. I cut each biscuit open and added a pat of butter and a spoon of apricot preserves They were so good. After going without bread so long, I could have eaten every biscuit but I didn’t. I only ate two I’ll finish them in a few days and in a couple of months I’ll cook another pan full. How often do you make biscuits?

Those sound delicious! I used to make them all the time when the kids were home. Now, our eating habits have changed. Now you have me drooling and dying to make them again.

@DianneN Thank you, everything in moderation, but I will continue to go slow on the carbs.

I hadn’t made any since my glucose was too high, but now I can eat them occasionally. I have to be careful not to overdo it.

I've never made biscuits. In fact I never really learned how to bake breads or cakes although I have made cake from a box before, thats a no brainer, right?

Cooking is easy to learn if you’re interested. I cooked for my family but I cook very little now. It’s not my favorite thing.

I make biscuits the same way that you do. Except I put honey on mine. They are so good hot out of the oven. I divide the dough in half and make half one day and the other half the next day.

Most people roll the dough out and cut with a biscuit cutter , but I make my biscuits as my mother taught me. Not many people make biscuits as you and I do. I like honey with my buttered biscuits too.

@RubyHawk Biscuits are not popular here in Europe. I remember my grandmother preparing hand made pasta every day when my cousins and I stayed there in summer.

Often I'll be lazy and make bannock- whole wheat biscuit dough fried in a skillet.

@RubyHawk We grind our wheat into flour. When I am not using yeast to make something I use all wheat flour. I do this even when I make a cake.

Your biscuits look absolutely delicious, Ruby! I just started baking biscuits again, after staying away from a couple types of bread, for a long time. Now, my numbers are good, so I'm baking biscuits about twice a month!

I would be afraid to bake them that often but if my sugar continues to stay low, I’ll make biscuits more often. I don’t want my sugar to go up again.

I have never made cookies, which is strange to me, but if I want to do it, I can find it online. In fact, the oven is not our common household appliance. There is an oven in my home. I have owned it for nearly 10 years. I only used it twice
