I remember in our class history that our teacher mentioned one of our national heroes Mabini who said tell me your company and I will tell you who you really are.
Thus, I came across with this saying from Booker T. Washington:
"Associate yourself with people of good quality, for it is better to be alone than to be in bad company."
And I agree with him. What about you?

This is very good advice! I'd much rather spend time alone, instead of being in bad company!

@Nakitakona I love being alone. It's peaceful, calm and fulfilling to spend time in silence, with God!

@Nakitakona Yeah. I remember that song too. I believe Bobby Derin did it? Might have the spelling of his name wrong though.

I think Booker's thought is geared towards business. And you're right for that..

I agree in general, but few people are all good or all bad. Sometimes you have to take the wheat and leave the chaff

I agree with Booker. It just took me about 40 years to realize it.

It certainly sounds like good advice, and yet Jesus Christ did not come for the righteous man, but for the sinner, who needed him more.
Mark chapter 2, verse 17, ESV: "And when Jesus heard it, he said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners."
We are not Jesus Christ, of course, but sometimes, we do have to shine our light in dark places, and not ignore the darkness completely.

@Nakitakona Yes, sometimes a light amongst a bad crowd can benefit humanity too. Nothing is ever cut and dried in life.
We should not always avoid bad company, but more keep shining our light, despite the bad company.

We should never hide our goodness and mercy in a bushel but rather let the humanity be benefitted of it.

@innertalks Bad company makes us aware that it does exist and makes us cautious and careful to mingle with them.
