How Funny Is This?

I have a friend who's name is Timmy who loves to tell jokes. He tells them to anyone who would listen, from his classmates at school to his family at home. But Timmy was convinced that his jokes were the funniest in the world and he wanted to prove it. One day, Timmy decided to enter a comedy competition at the local theater. He practiced his jokes every day, perfecting his delivery and timing. The day of the competition finally arrived and Timmy was ready to take the stage. He walked up to the microphone and began to tell his jokes. The audience was quiet at first, but as Timmy continued, they began to laugh. Timmy was thrilled, he knew he had won the competition. But as he finished his last joke and the audience erupted in applause, he realized that the most important thing was not winning the competition, but making people laugh. After the show, Timmy was approached by the judge, who told him that he didn't win the competition, but that his jokes had brought a smile to everyone's face. Timmy was happy to have made people laugh and knew that's all that truly mattered. I think it's very true. Please let me know what you think??

If you stick around myLot very long, you'll find that I love to tease people just so they'll smile and laugh with me. As I get to know people here, I start teasing them. A few people don't think I have much wit and that's fine... I won't try to make them laugh along with me. I hope you're enjoying myLot and the people you've found here.

Yes, sometimes it doesn't matter if you win a contest or not. It might have been a proud moment for Timmy when judge came and told him that his jokes brought smiles to everyone's faces.

It is nice to be able to make people laugh Timmy must be a very popular person. Maybe the person who won the competition had something slightly more quirky or unusual to offer. There are already many stand up comedians around these days.

Making people laugh is the main goal of comedians. I think it's more rewarding. I like making people laugh too. It makes me happy.

Yes, that is true. Winning is not the important thing. I was watching the Antiques Roadshow on Sunday and they were looking at these great big orange vases. The antiques expert said something about forming a relationship with your ceramics. I said, I don't form a relationship with my ceramics! And my Mum burst out laughing! That set me off laughing and I couldn't stop! You had to be there.

I agree, as long as he made them laugh that's all that mattered, that's the purpose of them going probably to get a break and a smile
