This photo is for @RubyHawk. Here is Rufus with his goofy face on. This Heeler boy has been a trial. His Gotcha! adoption day is coming up on January 30th. I am delighted to live with him. Here are the first 6 months with him: he chewed and spit out huge chunks of our brand new foam crate mattress- I need that so that I can relieve my back at night. He refused to not be potty trained. And on we went. Since then Rufus has shown more sweetness than How Could you?? He has quit chewing the mattress. He has quit grabbing the cats and pinning them to the ground. He does continue to bark like a demented monster when the phone rings and when I cough or sneeze. That barking is super awful to attempt to live with. Then again Rufus is a Heeler and he needs to work. Foster Dad taught Rufus to walk well on leash. Rufus wants to work so he waits for me on steps and curbs. He is a fun rascal. And rascal is a good name for him and his need to go and be and do.

He's a cutey. Good thing he stopped the chewing. The pinning the cats to the ground and barking at the phone or sneeze made me laugh.

@noni1959 Rufus must be monitored when he is around small dogs and cats. He has a dark history. Foster Dad wanted me to give him back but I refused and now I make sure to keep track of what is going on with the cats.

@sallypup That is a good idea. Hugs to you for giving him a chance. Many would not have done so.

They are very smart like this rotten little border collie that is snoozing right now. She will start learning her main job in March or April

@wolfgirl560 I'm sure you know to start working with her right now, teaching her to obey and keep track of you.

Working dogs can be a trial as a house-dog. I'm glad he's settling down a bit.

I need to work as well, I think. Rufus and I can both seek out meaningful employment. He is a well dressed sweetie.

I'm glad he's finally comfortable with you 2 and realized he's got a furever home. Puppies do all that destroying when they're young which Roscoe did too then finally they become calmer as they become more comfortable with their new pack.

Rufus is such a gem. The fact that he barks at the phone and your coughs and sneezes is funny.
