It seems she is in 24 hour care and was incapable of responding to the original summons.
I think this is nuts. People where I am ignore summons with impunity. I'm sure mistakes happen, but this went far enough to get media attention to it. Anybody else see something like this before?
The summons was delivered first to Marion Lenko's seniors’ residence. Then in December, it was sent to her son-in-law's home in Beaconsfield, Que., an on-island Montreal suburb. She was expected to to appear for selection earlier this month.

I know that in Louisiana if a person is a senior citizen and not able to answer jury duty summons, they are not punished by the courts.

I think that's fair
Personally, I would be OK with the threshold being age 75 or 80, but yeah, at 85 or 90, I'd have them purged from the list anyway.
I live one province over and people just ignore jury summons

@Methodless In Louisiana if I miss a jury duty assignment, I would be in deep trouble with the parish officials.

@Deepizzaguy That's how it should be. It's just poorly enforced where I am.
It is your Civic Duty

I'm expecting that now that the story has media coverage, it will be dropped
