I have such a hard time remembering things so I have a note on my phone where I jot down things about myLot members I see posted.
I’ve been trying to remember lately what animals each member has.
I thought maybe a post like this may make things easier for me to learn about your furbabies. Photos would help me remember them easier as well I think and be enjoyable to look at.
I have a small dog named Viking. Her mother was part chihuahua, part Pekingese and part Jack Russell they didn’t know who the father was possibly a beagle. She looks like a Jack Russell but is smaller, all tan coat and has big beautiful eyes. She has little man syndrome which isn’t a real condition for people who haven’t heard of it. She’s 5.
My husband bought a brown lab 6 years ago for my stepson for Christmas. She’s pretty much my husbands dog though. Her name is Jade. I am not a fan of her for many reasons but we tolerate each other.
He has 5 beagles that live outside. I do not like pets living outside. They are his hunting pack. Three are boys and two are girls. Tanner is the oldest and we don’t think he will live through the winter but he proved us wrong last year. Then there is Elliot, Cutty and the two newest ones he got Roo and Minxy that are females.
About a year ago or less he bought pigeons. There are 3 left out of the 10 he bought. Something wild here kept killing there and a few flew off as soon as he let them out the first time. They are homing pigeons so I think they flew home to where they were raised an hour away.
Finally our newest member of our family is a kitten and can be seen in the photo (that’s the best I could get the red eyes fixed) He is almost six months old and a Siamese mix. He looks just like a purebred but his siblings were a solid gray and a solid black. Someone dumped them outside my sister in laws house. My niece had him for a month and named him Stewart but my son and I call him Stew.

@RebeccasFarm my husband would love one of those. I like smaller dogs. My husband’s family always raised beagles. My mother raised two litters of Boston Terriers.

@shaggin She was very close to Dustin, and I am sure confused when she couldn't find him. I had to move and she never adjusted. Still breaks my heart. They are incredible companions to have. And good hunters, but she was our family member.

@allknowing I love reading about them. I confuse things a lot though and get very upset with my bad memory so I want to jot all these things down in my notes.

@Tampa_girl7 my parents had one 40 years ago named Junior. He was so mean my parents didn’t want it around their baby (my sister) so my grandmother took it in and named it Baby. My baby girl calls our kitten baby kitty.

@Daddyevil we had so many guppies when I was a kid. We started out with just a few from a yard sale we went to and my god they bred fast! Their water was gross so one day my mom put a drop of bleach in to help them out and it killed them

@DaddyEvil what made you stop breeding them and selling them?

@shaggin Yeah, that helped them right out... When I was selling guppies to pet stores here, I kept female guppies but kept them in separate tanks from the males. (I only sold males.) I'd breed a few pairs, sell off the males... At one time I had 13 tanks of guppies... Four fancy breeds that sold for a lot of money each and two tanks that were "feeder" guppies. (People bought them to feed to other fish or turtles.) Now, I only have one 30 gallon tank and only buy male guppies.

@wolfgirl569 that is an adorable way Jill got her name. I am so glad I made this post I love to see the photos and hear the stories. Are the cats a special breed is why they were sold? I thought Jill was a dog? Jill is this black cat?
That photo is hysterical! This is what my naughty kitten did for the millionth time yesterday. My mother is taking the plant I’ve had it with cleaning it up constantly. My husband brought it home and it was beautiful but a bad idea!

@shaggin The picture is when he got his name. Jill was born here and the guy buying her brother named him Jack when he picked him out. So we had Jack and Jill for a couple of months

@shaggin when the cats were born I thought they were both boys so I was thinking Beatles and RIngo and Paul the too still left. Then one wound up being a girl so it was Ringo and a Beatle song Michelle, However, she would not respond to this name so one day I am watching an Addams Family movie and she perks up at the name Morticia. So I rechristened her and now when I call her or say Tish she looks right at me,

@nela13 in nice weather I think animals do prefer to be outside. To many wild animals here to do that and I worry abort them catching diseases too like Lyme and feline leukemia so I’d have to get them more vaccines if they were outdoors.

@jstory07 it’s nice when siblings can stay together. We had two out of three kittens from a little many years ago. We never could find where the mother cat took a little black one or we would have kept that one too. What are your cats names?

One of the outside beagles is old and not eating well. My husband brought him inside and cooked him some fresh meat. The cat is very curious.

I have one small dog (a Maltese) named Mush because she's just a big old mush and loves to be loved.

@Marilynda1225 I consider most of them my husbands not mine. It bothers me a lot those beagles live outside. They have heating pads in the dog houses and door flaps to keep the heat in but still they shouldn’t have to live out there like that when our other two dogs live inside.
What a cute name for your dog. Maltese are a nice breed! My father in law has an old one. The hair kept getting in his teeth and making it hard for him to eat so a vet would have to clean it out. His teeth got all rotted so they had his teeth pulled. Poor thing I had no idea that could happen to them.

@Marilynda1225 yep he thinks that if dogs live inside they will be too coddled and not hunt as well. He said he has had that before. I don’t believe it they never had any beagles that lived inside when he was growing up.

@shaggin Maltese is a nice breed. Small and gentle. Our Mush is almost 13 years old but still acts like a youngster. I wish I could run up the stairs as fast as she does . That's sad to hear that your father in laws dog had to have all his teeth pulled. Guess dog have teeth problems as well as us humans.
I would tend to agree about your beagles and I would probably feel bad about them staying outside even if their dog houses are heated. Does it have something to do with the fact that they're hunting dogs and maybe your husband doesn't want them to feel too homey?
