Last night, our son invited us over for dinner. He served spaghetti with Impossible sausage, a plant based product, since he’s a vegetarian. He grilled it, and it was delicious! It worked out well since we had zero food in our house.
His girlfriend left for a trip to Ecuador for two weeks with her mother and brother. My son had to cancel going, because he is too busy with work. We were invited, but no can do. Hubs and I aren’t into hiking, paddle boarding, kayaking, etc…. My son told us that he’s lonely, but will snap out of it in a couple of days.
Anyway, our sweet son drove us to the airport at 6:00am in the snow! Our plane had to be de-iced, and then the pilot had a glitch in the cockpit. Once that was fixed, we took off. I slept for an hour, we arrived early, and a friend picked us up at the airport in Florida within minutes.
So here we are in sunny warm Florida. Looks like the HOA finished the sea wall, put in a sprinkler system, and laid sod while we were away for 9 days.
It’s good to be back, but we both miss our northern family and friends.

Oh man him having to miss out on a trip to Ecuador that had to be tough to pass up. His job is very lucky to have someone so dedicated! My husband was saying that the impossible meat is showing cancer in lab rats
. I haven’t looked into it but that makes me nervous.

They are spending a week in the Galapagos Islands now. My son really wanted to go there.
It's my son's business. He's President and CEO and just opened the business last January. He needs to be there, unfortunately, to make it a success.
Yes, I've heard things about the plant based products, but he doesn't eat it often.

@DianneN No, I have to get to it so I can take our clothes out of the closet and the drawers. I just haven't felt up to going there without Al. But I may rent it starting this fall, might as well have it working for me.

I hope you enjoy the weather. It is snowing on top of the inch of sleet we already had.

@DianneN I'm glad you and your hubby made the flight okay and didn't have any problems getting home when you got to Florida.
Nah... the groundhog normally sees his shadow here.

Now you're just rubbing your nice weather in...

I'm sorry. I hope you are staying indoors and thinking of what the groundhog will say about spring.
It's beautiful here, but after a quick grocery store stop, I'm too tired to go out now and enjoy the weather. Tomorrow for sure!!! We were so hot after being bundled up against the snow and cold, that we changed into our shorts immediately. Plus, lowered the a/c!

The snow was light and melted by the time we got to Florida.
He is happy missing the trip, because he had time to get some big clients and working on more.
Yep, the plumber showed up today to measure the pipe. He should have measured it when he first discovered the leak. Now we have to wait until next week
Oh, and still waiting for the window and door permits. Big sigh!

The osprey welcomed us back again. He’s out there now fishing and singing.
I’m impressed that you’re a vegetarian. It’s a healthy way to live and a great way to let the animals live in peace.
Thank you! It’s a lovely place to be during the cold winter months.

You are fortunate that you can fly back and forth to see family and friends. I wouldn't want to visit the cold northern tundra of the US once I was in Florida!

We barely see our older son and the grandkids. They lead a busy life with school, sports, and traveling every weekend for competitions for one kid or the other. They have to check their calendar before seeing us
It’s fun to travel to see them, but more fun when they come to visit us in Florida.

Good to hear you had a safe trip. A lot of planes couldn't fly today in different parts of the US, due to ice storms.
We bought some plant-based burgers at Costco recently, and they are delicious.

I read a lot of labels on products, trying to avoid things I don't need to eat. It can get complicated.
