When the pool water is not warm at night

Went swimming for the first time at our new condo's pool tonight. I thought about swimming at night because I didn't want the water to be cold. Water retains heat more than air, and all that. But it turns out that I was wrong. It was brrr freezing. Will probably take me a while to recover hahaha What about you guys, what's your favorite time of day to go swimming?
