Where The Heart Is.

Have you ever considered leaving your home country to live in another?
What would be some of your reasons for wanting to leave? And which country would be your country of choice?
I like my homeland and life in the Caribbean, but if l am tempted to leave - then my country of choice would be New Zealand.
Why? Apart from the beautiful landscapes and very clean appearance, New Zealand is number 2 on the list of the world's safest countries.
Which means- a low violent crime rate, strict gun control laws, no terrorism etc, etc.
Of course, my heart will always be in my homeland Guyana. What say you?

I am too old to go elsewhere but I do love some other places. I don´t think about safety reason anymore because I have seen violence everywhere. Besides my country, I love Mexico (specially Ciudad de Mexico). And I love to go for vacations to Aruba.

New Zealand definitely is gorgeous and sounds amazing with how low the crime is. I’m sure there are negatives to living there though just like every country. I’m not sure where I would go personally. I’d just love to live somewhere warm year round.

Oh many times I have Kandase and have done it for a long many years.
I had lived both in Ireland and England for many years outside the US.
These days, it would take a good deal more money for me to do so.

At one point in our lives, my hubby was offered a transfer to another country.
Neither one of us were keen on leaving Canada, we love our country and all that it has to offer.
The economics of moving to that country did not prove to be beneficial to us, so we did not pursue it further.
If I had to leave Canada for another country, I would look to Luxumbourg as both my hubby as well as myself, have family that hails from there, either there or the UK.
But I really hope to live out my days here in my beloved country of Canada.

I've never had any desire to live outside of the US. I do agree though that New Zealand looks absolutely beautiful

@Kandae11 it certainly is. However I'd love to travel and see other places and maybe stay for a little longer than just a vacation but I don't think I'd want to live permanently anywhere else than here

I would love to travel and visit other countries, but I like where we live. I would love to have a house on the Atlantic Ocean near Myrtle Beach SC, but I'd want at least ten acres so unless we win a huge lottery, that's not happening!

I want to go to another country for a while and see something new. New Zealand sounds like it would be a perfect place to relieve my blood pressure from the stress of the city. City Life has become a poor quality of life for many people with crime and congestion. I think I would like to stay in Paris and London for a few months which were my dream cities.

I've often entertained the idea of living ex-pat outside the US for a while either on the Atlantic Coast of Ireland or on one of the islands in the Scottish Hebrides. I feel these would be great places to live while giving my all to my writing.

@Kandae11 When I was in the US Military, I spent two-years stationed in South Korea and, while that's not exactly the same a living there due to all the American type stores, etc ... on base, I did spend as much time as I could learning about the culture and the people who lived near the base. I even rented a room in the village for several months to learn more and become better acquainted with the folks.
I like to think that came back to the US with a much broader vision of the world.

My heart is nowhere, not even where I have spent my whole life in Australia.
I would not like to move to another country, though, and have to relearn the customs, laws and ways of living too.
I have always tried to lift my heart into Heaven, already in my life, rather than plant it down here on the Earth somewhere else.

@Kandae11 Yes, l just thought l would add another unearthly, or outer worldly, view to it.
New Zealand is a sister country to Australia, and l wouldn't mind living there either.
