It Tasted Good To Me.

Do you experiment with food combinations or additions which may be considered weird or unusual?.
Yesterday l cooked my usual rice and peas which l would normally have with cooked veggies or fish on top.
However, yesterday l was a bit rushed ,so after the rice and peas was cooked l did not have the time to prepare anything else.
So l had it with a tablespoon of natural peanut butter smeared on top.
Well it tasted good enough, but l won't be in a hurry to try it again.
What about you ? What strange combinations have you tried?
And by the way - how easy is it to eat with chopsticks?

I usually stick with combinations that work. Former roomie not the one I just had, but one before used to make some "creative" food combinations. Most of them he liked, it was a pass for me though.

I once had Bread with Pulses (Legumes). It actually does not matches but I was perhaps low on energy or short of time.
I hope that what you tried tasted well although I know it was not the best of combination.
As for chopsticks, I am still to try it!

I've only used chopsticks once and it's really difficult to use them. I finally asked for a fork and spoon so I could actually eat.
I only eat peanut butter in candy. I don't like it otherwise.

@Kandae11 Some friends took us to a fancy Chinese restaurant once years ago. Everybody else laughed at me for asking for the spoon and fork... But at least I got to eat.

I've never tried putting peanut butter on rice. But I love glutinous rice balls with peanut butter as fillings.

@Kandae11 I sometimes have black sesami as fillings. I love both peanut butter and black sesami.

For some reason, that sounds good to me Kandase.
I love eating with chop sticks, somehow, I never had a problem using them.
Though I don't use them these days.
I sometimes eat Parmesan cheese with peanut butter.

@Kandae11 Do you just boil rice and green peas together and add peanut butter?

@aninditasen No, no. I am a semi vegetarian so my diet consists mostly of beans, peas, lentils for protein. I like them cooked with rice with coconut milk added.l also add chopped onions , garlic, carrots and bell peppers. When everything is cooked , l might have it with stewed , seasoned veggies or sometimes fish. That day l was in a rush and did not have time to prepare any thing to have with the rice and peas, so l tried it with peanutbutter and it tasted fine to me.

I keep experimenting with my food as long as I am sure that it would be palatable. I like variations in the cooking style of the same dish.

@Kandae11 They rightly said that Necessity is the mother of all inventions/ discoveries and experiments . You might not like to try it again and again. But you now know that you have something you can rely on in case of hurry.

I have never been good with chopsticks. I recently found I like chocolate hummus. I found I like to add orange peel and orange juice to pumpkin bread.

I never have learned to use chop sticks. I agree, not sure the peanut butter was a good addition. Now peanut butter cookies would be yummy!

For a hurried meal, the peanut butter at least added some protein. I can eat with chopsticks, but have not done so for quite a while.
