Have you ever been scammed?

I might have worked for a scammer. He's in the middle of trying to get money from me now (80$) using cryptocurrency. This is apparently for the external charges that I need to pay before my compensation can be processed into my account. Although I've already done the work, I am hesitating because I absolutely cannot find anything about him online. I'm doing background check now (granted, I should've done this at the onset, but he claimed the job was to be rushed so....). Hopefully, he checks out so I can get my money :( How do you avoid scammers? Any tips?

I see no reasons why you should pay first to be paid. This smells like a scam.

When you need to pay before you get any payment or any gift or any prize from a competition you didn't even participate, you can be sure that it's a scam. My husband got scammed before and it was his retirement money.

That's a legit scam. If they ask for money, especially in crypto or gift card, or insist you need to rush, it's a scam. A scammer isn't going to want you taking the time to do research. Do NOT do anything more. Block them. Classic scam. If it sounds to good to be true, it usually is.

Yes, unfortunately. Now I realise that one common tactic from scammer: They always ask money before they give you 'nothing.'

Yes, I have been cheated twice, and the amount is not large, so many times we need to learn more about different ways of cheaters, so as to avoid being cheated
