I love millet bread. This is Pearl millet bread. Beautiful for digestion, high in iron, very good for diabetes and it is so filling. It will keep you away from hunger pangs for hours. Above all, Pearl millet is eaten during winters as it keeps your body warm. Along with it I made black gram and spinach curry.

Bajre ki roti is such an unsung hero of our country. I was surprised to earn that India is the biggest exporter of Bajra. This year budget millet's importance was highlighted as people living in India are still unaware of its medicinal properties. I have never combined black gram and spinach. Do you mind sharing how you made it? Hope you had a satiating meal.

Exactly, you stole my mind and what it wanted to say. Bajra is so so healthy. Not only Pearl but all the millets we get in our country. They are so healthy. I warmed some water hot enough. Always get fresh bakra milled old ones taste bitter and the bhakri/ bread don’t come out well. Pour water little by little and rub the flour nicely. The dough should be little stick when you press it on the plate and knead. You can then either pay it with flour or pay it with water Some also do it with rolling pin I make it by patti g using flour

@Archie0 yes, it needs lots of kneading. I use a rolling pin. We are entering summer now so bajra will be replaced by jowar which is easier flour to deal with.

It’s very easy. And it has no yeast, salt or sugar so it’s extremely healthy too

consuming pearl millet can have numerous health benefits, including aiding digestion, improving blood sugar control, and reducing the risk of certain chronic diseases like heart disease and cancer.

Is the curry green in colour or because of the spinach?
