Do any of you have alarms in your home or on the door of your home?

I have alarms that I put after my house was burglarized twice about 3 years ago or so. But now I think that Luna is a better alarm than the expensive one I pay every month.

@marguicha
I agree that Luna is a good alarm if she is a good watchdog.

@Hannihar I doubt that she is a good watch dog. She is too loving. But she is big so maybe the burglars are afraid.

Was she there when the burglars entered your home and do the alarms help since Luna is very friendly?

I do not have alarms. And here also, we are not allowed to take video at all so that means I could not have a camera recording action at the door.

That is a shame that you cannot record anything. Who is that in the picture?

I will check the e-mail now. I checked out your store and very interesting. To me it looks like the price is in shekels and not dollars. The person is still there. How one can stand that long amazes me. I wonder what that is about.

@Hannihar All in Connecticut. Motion detectors let the alarm company know if their is movement in the house. We installed the Ring Doorbell mainly to see if we get snow while we are away in Florida and if we get plowed and shoveled. It's good for identifying people who come to the door for deliveries or for solicitation. It also helped us notice a bear eating the birdseed for our poor birds.

Do you think you will install them in Florida too? Thank you for letting me know what the motion detectors do and the Ring Doorbell. Is the Ring Doorbell part of the camera that is installed and the door bell rings as part of the alarm? I have a doorbell connected to my alarm so could that be a ring doorbell or is the ring doorbell something else?

@Hannihar You can buy it at a shop that sells CCTV that supports HD resolution and can record all events up to 7 days and our internet must be fast, because from the housing complex we provide it for free so I only have to pay for the internet package every month.

None of my outer doors and windows have any alarms on them. This where I live is consider a luxury to have or afford to put on in. Now there are some that people in our area that just makes sounds when the door opens and closed but to have it set to have an alarm and it tell like the police like I said is consider a luxury. Parents tend to get the ones that just make sound when they have small children that can reach the door. My husband mom had to do that with her two younger boys and even with a high lock at the nearly the top of the door they still found ways to get out but couldn't stop the door sound from going off.

@Hannihar If you have a silent alarm how do you know it's going off? Is it linked to a computer, your phone. We have an old internet connection and they told us once we disconnected it the box wouldn't peep. You know what it does, Peeps. It's not all day long it peeps at random like it was designed to do and it's a single peep.

I have a silent alarm. I hear this alarm go off all the time and do not know where it is. There are other alarms here and not sure they are good or not.

We don't have alarms here. I don't really feel the need for them but many in the city do. I feel a bit more secure being in our village. The whole 120 houses are in a sort of compound and the main gate is locked at 6pm. Our gate to the street is locked and the screens and doors are all quite secure.

We don't have an alarm on our home, we live on the 7th floor and often the elevator is not working, We also have a dog, and a cat, but I don't think that they are as much as a deterrent as the non-working elevator!!

thank you for answering my post and if the dog is trained to protect you then that is good. A cat can also protect people but not always. Non-working elevators are a pain and to have to walk up and down 7 flights of stairs is not fun.

This person that has been standing out there a long time has a mask on and has been there a long time and is just standing by the elevator opposite our apartment. Actually the person is standing around the corner but by us and not standing at the elevators.

@Hannihar It also discourages any thieves to try to come into the apartment. Of course if you have a lobby that is only accesible with a code, then you are safe too.

Alarm is important, especially the one at the door. It tells you someone is at the door. I don't have that one. I have one in my phone that wakes me up at the set time.

It sounds like you have an alarm clock and not alarm to warn against burglars? Is that correct or not?

Yes Hanni. I have a chime alarm system throughout my home. I can set it to call the police in case of an intruder, but it costs to do that. I also have a web cam setup to view anyone who comes onto my front porch. It good to have some sort of safety feature these days.

I don't have an alarm at home, usually people will have at least 1 alarm in their room, but I don't, I usually wake up with an intention in my heart, if I want to get up at any time then I will make it happen in my heart and in my mind, I do this therapy every day on me, and it works.
