Incident One: A little boy died because surgeons found ants in his brain! Apparently this boy fell asleep with some sweets in his mouth or with some sweet stuff beside him. Ants soon got to him and some ants in fact crawled into his ear which somehow managed to go to his brain. When he woke up, he did not realize that ants had gone to his head. After that, he constantly complained about itchiness around his face. His mother brought him to a doctor, but the doctor could not figure out what was wrong with him. He took an X-ray of the boy and to his horror, he found a group of live ants in his skull. Since the ants were still alive, the doctor could not operate on him because the ants were constantly moving around. The boy finally died. So please be careful when leaving food stuff near your bed or when eating in bed. This might attract ants. Most importantly, NEVER you or your child eat sweets before going to bed. You or your child might attract ants while you are asleep. Incident Two: Another similar incident happened in a hospital in Taiwan . This man was warded in the hospital and was constantly warned by the nurses not to leave food stuff by his bedside because there were ants about. He did not heed their advice. Ants finally got to him. His family members said that the man constantly complained about headaches. He died and a post mortem or autopsy was done on him. Doctors found a group of live ants in his head. Apparently, the ants had been eating bits of his brain. So friends, better be safe than sorry. Never leave food stuff beside your bed you when you go to sleep.

It is impossible that ants can get inside human brain and crawling around. What happen to the human immune system? what happen to ear wax than can trap foreign particular go inside human ear?

If you want to find out what is true or not, go to snopes.com. Usually that will tell you. Not sure if I believe that, but then again weirder things have happened.

I don't think either of those stories are true. There is no way that once an ant got into the body that it would survive. There is no direct way for an ant to get to the brain that would allow either of the stories above to actually happen. It is not wise for people to eat in their bedrooms because it does tend to bring in bugs that carry diseases.

This is very surprising to read. I cannot imagine ant entering some body's brain because sweet is kept near. It is totally unbelievable and unheard of at in my 25 years of interaction in the medical field. Hoewver, it is true that the sweet should not be kept near by while sleeping and the ants can enter ears. The ear drum blocks the entry to brain. The ear is so sensitive that the person will immdly wake up when something goes near the ear.

I'm sorry, I don't believe either of these stories. They both seem too far fetched to be believable.

Would you give me a link of this story, please? Where did you get it? Then I would know if it's true or not. But, it's interesting... I agree that prevention is better than medical care..

i wonder if this is really true? an ant getting into the brain and actually multiply and live in the brain? but things, i mean weird things do happen in this world. if this is true, just might be one case to prove that it does happen to some.
