Stomach bug hit here again

My son woke us all up at 2am last night vomiting. Somehow when we were sick almost two weeks ago he avoided it but now he has caught it. He threw up just about every hour or more until 10:30am.
He said to me “I need.. I just can’t stop throwing up.” I had to laugh and said it’s a stomach bug that’s what happens. I told him when I had it every 10 minutes it was coming out both ends. I felt bad for him though he felt terrible.
Every time he would vomit the baby would start crying. The noise scared her badly .
I’m keeping him home tomorrow as well to rest more. I don’t think he should go back to school until he has not vomited or had a fever in 24 hours. No one seems to follow that rule but I do.
I didn’t get a lot of sleep I fell asleep at 4 and was up at 8am.
The baby and I drove to the pharmacy for a prescription we needed and I took the long way home and hid two geocaches for others to find. I am going to hide more so although I made the listings for them I am not submitting them for publishing yet.
Photo is of one of my husbands pigeons waiting in the rain for him to get home and feed him.

@sallypup my sister works at the school and told me that the nurse doesn’t call the parents when the kids vomit. She just sends them back to class. I would be livid if my child was sick and I was not notified to take them home to rest. It also spreads the germs to all the other students. No one everyone is constantly sick up there. It’s gotten so bad they are thinking of going back to having everyone wear masks.

@shaggin at my husband's work, they have to wipe down phones and computer mouses because they hold so many germs.

@Juliaacv stomach bugs are just awful. He had a rough time I felt bad for him. He’s all better today thankfully and will go back to school tomorrow. You’re a smart momma not a lot of those around here. Our school doesn’t even send kids home when they vomit as I was telling sallypup

@Juliaacv when my daughter is in school I will raise h3ll if they don’t call me when she is sick. I don’t understand why things have changed. They used to call me over every little thing when my son was in elementary school. I appreciated the heads up even if he didn’t even get a bump on him when he and another kid would run into each other on the playground.

@shaggin If the schools do not send them home for that, I would suggest to the child that when they are that sick to have the school call home. Only a parent should be making that call if the child should be home in bed or spreading their bug with the other classmates. A few students doing that might change the policy on when to send a student home.

@LadyDuck yep I also always see it as a sign we are getting better when our appetite returns and we are suddenly ravenous. He missed clubs and band class at school he was bummed because they took photos and he wasn’t there with his friends .

@Laurakemunto thank you. Sadly a lot of parents here don’t keep their kids home long enough when they are sick.

@shaggin they need to have kids to fully recover before returning to school. Health is so much important. Without a healthy body and mind, a child cannot learn well.

We had a second round go through our classroom and our home. Not as severe this time, but still not something you want to spread.

@Daddyevil my son felt fine today and had lots of time to rest. His favorite part was probably when I left to go to the store and take the baby for a ride and he had the house to himself to play his music as loud as he wanted .

@rakski it’s been 12 hour snow since he’s vomited. He didn’t feel all that well but went to bed feeling much better then when he came down with this. He should be better tomorrow and then fully rested to return to school the following day .

So sorry about your little one. I pray he's better. You are very wise to wait 24hours before sending him to school. And this will give him a chance to hydrate, too.

@1creekgirl yes he really needed that. He went without food for a very long time. 8 1/2 hours of vomiting then still feel icky so only able to eat a few grapes before bed. Today he was fine and got to rest and eat and will return to school tomorrow.
