Seventeen Days.

I had planned 21 days, but lasted 17 - still a long stretch however.
When my internet connection was knocked out early this month l could have got it back in a couple of days, but decided to challenge myself and stay internet free for 21 days. Even though tempted a lot of times to get back online, most of the time l felt a sense of freedom and relaxation.
I spoke on the phone more often with friends and family and managed to complete so many other things l had neglected.
I must admit that l experienced a few bouts of boredom, but those did not last very long.
So my conclusion is that if l had to l could live without the internet, but not at this time with my online business needing attention.
What about you? How long could you remain free of the internet?
How would you spend that period without the internet?

Perhaps, a day? Without the Internet for even an hour leaves me restless and worried because all my activities are online. especially my blogs and website. So I need to monitor them hour by hour. These are my source of whatever income I could generate.

I could remain free but I would really hate it. I wouldn’t be able to go geocaching without it, or keep in touch with my friends or family since I won’t talk on the phone. I wouldn’t have any online earnings to buy anyone gifts. I wouldn’t know any local events planned to take my daughter too or see anything going on since I don’t watch the news and only glimpse what people share on Facebook.

I could be free and get other things done, but then I would not be making any headway with money.
Glad you had a nice break Kandase and welcome back.
I hope you had a nice time. How is your son?

Two years ago our neighbor accidentally cut out internet line while mowing his yard... Our ISP kept calling asking us to check our router and see if they had "fixed" it from their end. We kept telling them we could see the two ends of the damaged cable but they insisted we unplug the modem, wait two minutes and plug it back in, as if that would do anything with a cut cable... Finally, after a week offline, a repairman came and asked why we hadn't just told the operator that the cable had been cut.
We just lost our internet again a few days ago and it was finally restored yesterday afternoon. Yes, we can live without the internet but neither one of us were happy about it.

Not much time without Internet for me.
May be a few hours.
I think you did right, though not many might be able to do it for these many days.
You surely would have benefitted a lot from such a break.

There were times that I could not be on the internet (for fun anyway) . . . weeks and months . . . yet I survived . These days there are some things that have to be done via the internet, so I am forced to get on the computer whether I like it or not. I "know" I could live without it, but let's face it, I'd miss it for sure .

At one time, the computer and the Internet weren't essential to my life. Now they are. I take a day off on Sunday away from the computer and confess, I can't wait until Monday morning to get back online. It is relaxing and I am finding things to do on my day off. I catch up on TV shows and watch movies I don't have time for throughout the week.

I am glad you can go without the internet and have other things to do. The best I can do is not be on the computer at all on our Sabbath and certain holidays but aside from that I need the computer because I have too much to do on the computer.

The longest time I can stay without the internet is three hours. Beyond that it's a mental torture to me

I have not tried being off the Internet but I doubt if I will be able to do that.

I got quite frustrated and upset when my internet was down for a day. Without internet, I read books, listen to my favorite CDs or talk to friends on the phone.
