Happy April Fool’s Day

April Fool’s was one day that I only remember as the silliest day of the year when I went to high school. Later it was just if close friends were up to making fun with each other. I never really looked at it as an actual holiday but if I ever wanted to be or get real silly this was the day to do it. So here it is again and this year I hope that I won’t get fooled by anyone online. When I think about it I believe the Mad Hatter from the Alice in Wonderland stories would have enjoyed such a day. At one time I wrote a poem to this fictitious character because I figured a life full of craziness was much more fun than being serious all the time. The Mad Hatter He was mad, as mad as a hatter, I would see him on rainy days, out there laughing at the rain, but then his life was such, much more interesting than mine. With best friends, that were all – more than ordinary clowns. Laughter often filled the days, with many funny things, they would all say. Living in his fantasy world, life was as jolly as, riding upon carousel horses - most every day. Taking tea with the Mad Hatter and feeling so much like Alice, I would take his hand, he would show me a world, where colors are bright, nothing is right, but it’s a worry-free world, turned topsy-turvy, where smiles and laughter rule the day and the Mad Hatter and I – would go dancing in the rain.
