March Wind in April

Our March wind came in today on the first day of April. There was very little wind during March but today the trees have danced. I’d forgotten how loud and strong wind can blow. Branches are scattered on the ground. I cleared the trail as I walked and cleared it again as I came back.I went on down to the creek and the trail was cluttered with branches. I stepped over and around them and went on my way. Maybe someone will come along and clear that part of the trail. I’ve never heard the wind whistle so loud. How’s the weather in your part of Mylot?

We've had strong winds the last few days. The winds are really cold, too. It was supposed to be 58F and sunny today. It was sunny but that wind about froze me when I stepped outside to get the mail. When it warms up we need to gather all the fallen limbs in our back yard. I can see half a dozen of them on the ground, at least.

It’s not a cold wind here but it’s strong The branches blowing off are small. My hair was standing on end all the time I was out. I got almost nine thousand steps.

@DaddyEvil Wow, You and Pretty need to be careful. these were small dry branches. If you notice in the picture these trees are tall but have few large branches.

@DaddyEvil I suppose it is useful to have the dry branches blown down. Saves you having to cut them down.

Doesn't that concern you that one of those branches could hit you? I don't like to be outside in windy conditions.

That must've been uncomfortable, my hair is too long to stand on end ....... now wouldn't that be funny to see someone with long hair standing on end

@rebelann Honestly, it might have stood on end today. I don’t know when we’ve had such a strong wind. My hairs short and I know it looked weird. Lucky nobody was walking today

No, they’re small dry branches. Not large enough to hurt anyone. If they were large I wouldn’t have been out. I enjoyed being out although my hair was standing on end.

It gets pretty breezy here where I moved. I came from the forest area of Oregon with rain, snow and wind to the desert area of Washington with a lot of wind. Some snow and rain but not as much.

@RubyHawk I grew up in CA and moved to OR in 2015. I always said I'd live there when I grew up and finally did. Now, I feel I left a bit too soon. I'll go back and forth but now a resident of WA.

We have had wind advisories off and on a few days now. Tornadoes all night. Up until 3:am. Sunshine and windy today.

@CarolDM That sounds bad. Do you have a safe place to go during a tornado? I don’t know how safe it is but I hole up in the bathroom. It has no windows and is on an inside wall. .

@RubyHawk There were at least 57 reports of tornadoes in Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin, according to the National Weather Service last night. One tornado was only 4 miles from my home.

I always stop to pick up branches when I’m walking on trails. Helps the next person who comes along. We have had crazy winds too the end of March and beginning of April.

Usually March is our month for strong wind but we had very little this March. Wind today is the strongest I’ve seen this year. I won’t be surprised if we have a tornado watch. I hope your tornado has passed.

I hope the weather would get better soon in your area. Over here, as usual, we had temperatures reaching 39 C and then in the evening it rained cats and dogs for one hour and then stopped abruptly.
