Left over bread can be used for making several snacks I use it to make pudding and 'bread wada' Bread is cut into pieces, soaked for a while in water and made into balls squeezing out the water. The balls are deep fried. Curds to which sugar and salt is added is poured over the deep fried balls and garnished with chili powder and chopped coriander leaves. How do you use left over bread?

Sometimes I make bread pudding, but I also make bread gnocchi, those are good with a nice tomato sauce.

@allknowing Gnocchi are a sort of dumplings in Italian cuisine. You can make gnocchi with potatoes, pumpkins or bread. Like those in this photo. Bread gnocchi.

@allknowing It sure is. You can add walnuts to it or chocolate chips. Whatever you want.

Had forgotten about this bread vada for more than 20 years. Reading your post I remember my husband used to make this. Its more than 23 years now since I must have last had it. I usually make a kind of upma with the leftover bread. Season onion, tomato with sliced green chillies. May be add a little bit of turmeric and garam masala and then season with corriander after mixing the cut pieces of bread. When the kids were little it was always bread pudding.

So many ways to use it. Make croutons for soup or salad. Shred it up and make stuffing with it. Shred it up and make bread pudding. Pulverize it in the blender, and make fine bread crumbs to use for meat loaf, meat balls, or to dredge meats in before browning/frying. Make French toast with it. I never waste it, it goes toward making something.
