Instacart strikes again

I placed a $55 order for some things I wanted for baking projects this week. A few things the shopper just couldn't find. Fine. The order was dropped off and is missing half of the things that the shopper supposedly found and charged me for. I also wound up with someone's bag containing: 2 packages of Oreos, 2 containers of Cool Whip, and a bag of gummy worms. Oh and a half gallon of 2% milk. The only thing I would ever use is the milk. So I put in for a refund from Instacart for my missing items. I scheduled the delivery for after 1 pm tomorrow but I don't even know if the store is open tomorrow. I just know that I'm not staying up for another 2 hours for a delivery tonight. I also texted my downstairs neighbor to see if she can use Cool Whip or Oreos. She has a 15 year old son so he might eat them. I will bring the gummy worms to the facility tomorrow. They love candy there. Like why can't they leave someone's order of ribeye steaks or lobster tails at my door?

Now I am glad I no longer go through Instacart. I order directly from Walmart and have had no problems, In fact, waiting for groceries right now,

It is annoying but I get a full refund for the missing stuff and I get to keep the incorrect stuff.

@NJChicaa that is good but Walmart got me against the wall yesterday. I budget what I spend on groceries and do it once a month. At midnight I realized my groceries were not coming but the money was taken from my account. Got in touch with customer service. They cancelled the order and luckily I could have the groceries reordered but that means I desperately will need to get the money from the previous order back. Long story short they gave me $20 off and my groceries were here by 8 AM today,

I think the Oreos, Cool Whip, and gummy worms were ingredients for a dirt cake.

I have not tried to shop food online, but I would try with our local supermarket in the mall here soon.

That's exactly why I shop for my own groceries. We ordered while covid was at it's worst but no more. I hope you get it all sorted out.

Sorry your order was wrong. That's what I hate about placing an order for pickup from Walmart. You have to go through your order carefully. We were once missing 8 items. You always have to check.

I started using Instacart during the pandemic and although there have been one or two hiccups, the company has always made good. Once, my entire grocery order was delivered at the wrong address - I got the notification, but nothing arrived. So I contacted the company - they cancelled all charges, asked me to reorder. Several hours later, a neighbour up the road came down to my place, toting my grocery order! I had already received my replacement order so I called the company and told them. They told me it was ok, to keep it or donate it to a local food bank - at no charge to me! I was very impressed. Mistakes happen, but the service, in general, is excellent. I've found that over the past few months, I keep getting the same people - more experienced people who are sticking it out as their business.
