My friend told me that last night, their dog was very noisy barking at something in the dark. They checked what was bothering him or something and lo, they saw a very long king cobra hiding under the table. I’m afraid of snakes and I was covering my ears while she was telling me the details. Loll Apparently, snakes look for cooler place now that it is very hot here. I can’t imagine finding one in my house.
Photo is of another snake sighting of another friend.

We used to have a garden hose that looked just like what's in your photo... I am not fond of snakes in the wild and much prefer to see them in a cage in the zoo.

@sol_cee Our local zoo lets people carry around their pythons, too. Pretty and I have both carried them. I wouldn't want to be around a hungry one, though.

I don't see the snake but that is dangerous if it can camouflage so well,

@sol_cee yes I am but if I can see them and they are like in a zoo or aquarium I love to watch them,

In the photo it doesn't look like a snake to me but of several butterflies maybe. Is the snake the pieces of red seen through the foliage?
I can imagine one coming inside either. Did they leave their door open? I know that's done in Guatemala.

@sol_cee I see little green, harmless garden snakes sometimes, but there are poisonous rattlesnakes in many places nearby.

@Treborika Even I also got scared watching the picture and didn't get the courage to look at it for a long.

I’m not sure if the species of snakes are similar in our respective countries, but that looks like a ribbon snake, a type of rat snake that is very beneficial. They eat frogs, mice, lizards and any other small creepy crawly things that try to get in your house.

@sol_cee I understand how easy it is to hate snakes, but they are very beneficial, and most are harmless.

@sol_cee I often visited my relatives who lived in the country as a child, often seeing snakes crawling in the veggie patches (in my best friends' gardens). But the rule there was (hehehe, I told myself), if those creatures do nothing to harm me, I should do nothing to affect them... so we practically just continueing went on our own ways. (Until one day, I saw two ropes dangling like acrobats on the ceiling area and pointed out to my friend. I was blind as a bat back then.)
