I am not doing well

I am not sure why but I am not doing well. I got up this morning at 6. Ate, took medicine, and went back to bed at 7:30. Slept until almost 12:30. Bob went to church without me. I did not even hear him leave. I got up and ate a snacky type meal and now I am tired again. No fever. No energy though. Bob is out mowing the lawn. It has been a couple of years since he has felt well enough to do it. I need to do some things other than be online. I possibly need to eat some more. I just want more sleep. I will keep you posted about things, I guess.

I hope you feel better soon. Uhm... when was the last time you had a complete blood test done? I'm only asking because you sound just like Pretty just before she fainted in her room and I took her to the ER... She had low potassium levels and was really low in iron...

Had a CBC in February, the 20th. On the other hand, I have been craving potatoes, bananas and oranges, and eating all three. Those are potassium rich, but I may be needing it. Fatigue is a side effect of the cephelexin I am taking. Oh and my hemoglobin in March when I gave power reds was 14.3

@DaddyEvil Oh, me too. Like I said, I seem to be craving potassium rich foods, and I am eating them. The first two nights on this antibiotic I had serious muscle spasms in a weird place on my ankle, not the way I have had them in the past. So I have been drinking G2 gatorade to help with all my electrolytes. In fact, I should do that tomorrow as well. I was doing that the day I felt really good. Thanks for the reminder.

@GardenGerty Yeah, but you've been sick since you had the CBC... The ER doctors told us it doesn't take much for our bodies to start dumping the potassium in our bodies. I just want you to feel like you again.

I am sorry you are feeling so rundown. I have not been on much today because my electricity was out from 11am to 7pm. Not great.

That is so frustrating. Do you have your electronics and such on surge protectors to keep them safe when the power comes back on?

@AmbiePam Ooh, I lost a modem, computer, and printer last May. But they were on a surge protector. I have a better one now.

Did you take a Covid test? Tired and no energy could be Covid.

No fever. I am inclined to think @DaddyEvil is correct and my potassium is low from illness and medicine. Whatever, I am drinking G2 Gatorade to replenish. I may take some iron for a while.

@GardenGerty Gatorade has only 37 milligrams of potassium for an 8 ounce bottle. One banana contains 425 mg of potassium. Throw those garbage drinks and eat a banana.

@LadyDuck Heather is diabetic and G2 is a lower-sugar electrolyte solution, so I imagine it's better for her blood glucose levels than a banana.

I had Covid one time, and it was not bad at all. I know I have strep and I have been fighting some kind of infection like strep since mid January. They did not test me for Covid, though.

@1creekgirl They diid not call it strep until this month. I had quite a bout with parotitis in February and it did not heal up with the first two antibiotics, so I got referred to an ENT clinic. More antibiotics, different kind, felt better. . . for about three days. Then "bam" strep.

@GardenGerty You really shouldn't still be fighting strep for four months! Please get to a good doctor. Strep can damage your heart.

Hope you will recover from your illness soon. I think it's lack of sleep. Try taking some boiled vegetables or chicken or meat salad that you make you feel energetic.

I was only tested for strep. I have finished antibiotics. The walk in clinic doctor referred me back to the Ear, Nose, Throat clinic, but I think I would be better off going to my local doctor.

It may be that you have eaten too many sugary foods. Sugar drains us of energy. Sometimes it happens to me. So I change the sweets for fruits, or a glass of water.
