K drama review: At 18

Since the start of the year I have been so into coming-of-age K dramas. I can't remember how I got into this genre, but for some reason I now appreciate teenage characters ... and I love them! Maybe because I have a teenage daughter already and I'm learning a lot from how the parents and teachers in the drama series deal with teenage school kids and their life issues.
"At 18" was recommended by my viewing app after watching the phenomenal and heartwarming "True Beauty". I was finding it awfully hard to get over True Beauty -- so I thought to watch another high school series and found At 18.
Initially I was so bored with the first 2 episodes that I nearly gave up on it. The series tells of a high school boy who enrolled in a new school following a directive they call "forced transfer". In his previous school, he was accused of stealing something. And he admitted to it to cover up for his best friend. In his new school, people avoided him because they saw him as a thief, a bad person. Eventually he won the hearts of many and that of the most loved girl in the campus.
The plot somewhat picked up in the middle of the series, so I'm glad I stayed with it. I learned many things from the way their homeroom teacher encouraged the students to the way parents pushed their kids to excel in the academics. Parents and teachers have their own struggles too as do these complicated teenagers.
In the end, the lead boy character found his niche which is art and he got into the art school he wanted. I love this boy's character -- he's quiet, smart, insightful and warm-hearted. His love for his single mom is immense and he's not one to quit on relationships.
After watching this, I might be taking a short break from high school dramas. I just finished one that's set in the university. I never get over student life. Sigh.

I watch all sorts of K-dramas. for Teen dramas. "Who are you" is a mystery genre. What about trying to watch another genre like "Familiar Wife", "Tunnel" or "Faith"? You might like them. Also, historical K-dramas are great too: "Jumong", "DongYi", and "The Moon that Embraces the Sun".

I have not seen any of those that you've mentioned. As for historical K drama, as far as I can recall, I've watched only 2 and both starred Lee Min Ho. There are others that I'd like to watch but I don't have access to them yet.

I've been wanting to watch Business Proposal but I don't have access yet. I hope you could watch True Beauty. Cha Eun Woo is adorable -- I actually found myself fangirling over this boy.

I used to love watching movies or tv series with mysteries and good lessons but when I started to age, I watch different things

Oh yes, our tastes vary and change as we grow older. When I was a teenager, I enjoyed reading thrillers and mystery books. I also enjoyed the fantasy genre. Now i only like feel-good books, movies and tv series.

Truly. I started watching K dramas only in August last year and I've been hooked ever since. I would take breaks once in a while but it seems they've become a part of my daily entertainment.
