Meet Teddy and Toby

Our friend has a friend who is a nun in an Irish town in Leitrim. We promised we would try to visit her which we did a day or two ago. She was very entertaining and originally came from Western Australia so we had a lot to talk about. At one point, she asked if we liked dogs. When we said we did, she brought in the convent’s two dogs to meet us. She had to bring them one at a time as apparently they fight a bit sometimes. The dog in the upper photo is Teddy and is a gentle soul who didn’t want to look at the camera. By contrast, Toby, the Jack Russell, is very exuberant and outgoing, and is always getting into strife in one way or another. They are both very much loved.

Teddy looks so adorably cuddly. I find that the Jack Russell breed to be very busy and are great for playing outdoors with children, not so much as a lap dog.

Jack Russell dogs are all too exuberant, but they are cute dog. I love Teddy, he looks so sweet.

They are adorable. A friend of mine had a Jack Russel and boy did she have energy. She could scale a 6 foot rock wall so Carol had to keep her mostly indoors ... well, she keeps all her dogs indoors if that's what they want anyway.

@JudyEv I watched a 1950s TV movie about Saint Theresa. Don't know why the folks making the show thought to put this part in: St. Theresa decides to be a nun. Her little dog follows her from her house. She has to tell the dog to go home- she has to give the dog up or not choose God. Heart breaking to me.

The few convents we've been involved with have all had pets of some kind. When I was going to school, the convent there had a milking cow as it was a boarding school. I didn't go to school there but I went there for piano lessons.

They are so cute! Teddy does look like the happy gentle soul in the lap. Toby does look restless there in the picture as if trying to jump out.
