My brother found a coach. He is not a therapist. He talked to him. The price is huge. I have to pay almost $1000 for 12 therapy sessions. After that, I will have to pay more. That coach is a very young person. He is younger than me. I am not sure if he has experience.
Now I am doing therapy with two therapists. My brother says that I make excuses. This made me feel angry and very upset. If I am making excuses why would I do therapy with two therapists? I would simply refuse therapy. I would say that I don't have problems. Trying therapy is exhausting. I do homework. And my brother thinks that I don't want to feel better. This is so painful. Would you spend $1000 for 12 therapy sessions?

@Riberet19 - And it was covered by our health insurance, so I finally paid nothing.

I understand how you feel about your brother Maybe he just wanted you to be challenged
If I know that this therapist have solid experience about my situation and will help me to get better. Then, I don`t mind spending 1000 dollars for 12 sessions

Seeing a therapist has nothing to do with therapy is mutually exclusive to the other. Lots of people make excuses and still see a therapist for whatever reason they have. A therapist usually has 7 years maybe a little less or more to help people. They are someone outside of your problems or issues.
A coach is usually someone that tells you what you might want to do with your life. opening your eyes for self-growth or seeing what your problems might be that you might want to change.
Some people see a therapist for just good mental health balance. You don't need a problem to see them just might need someone to talk to.
Both you and your brother have pros and cons to who you see or talk to. Just think of it if your brother is paying for something that he wants it has nothing to do with you and the same for yourself. It doesn't matter the cost of you talking to someone for yourself. The best thing to do is to let it roll off of you. Let him do his thing and you do your thing.

@dya80dya They are two different things. A therapist studies psychology and the working and development of the brain. A coach is usually a term for a life coach guiding you to where you might want to go in life. They are not the same as a therapist they are not trained in the workings of the brain. They might take like a basic on in college if they have a degree in being a life coach.
I wouldn't see a coach because they won't know what is right or wrong for my life. They might have and end goal for me but I can personally do that myself and fix my goals as life happens a therapist will help you through, your feelings, thoughts, which is great for mental health because a good balance of mental health will help you further yourself in actual life. Opening door to things you didn't think or feel before. They are unbiased there goal is to help you get to where you want to be emotionally, physically, and mentally. They go at your speed.

No I would not..he is a human being that therapist..not a God!! He charges too much for someone of your income level Diana. Sorry those are my thoughts.
And anyway..is your brother going to help pay for it?

What sort of therapy? I certsainly don´t have that amount of money. I discovered a way to pay very little for knee therapy through a government program for arthrosis.

Ouch! I pay a thousand dollars for ten 90-minute massage sessions, but they’re so worth it.
As for “therapy,” I’d go with licensed therapists (not friend of a friend of a family member), for a number of reasons. Insurance usually helps with therapy for mental health sessions; and you know the therapists are vetted.
As for your brother, I know this would hurt, but I’ve had to do it before: kindly tell him to butt out because he’s only making things worse.

That is awful expensive and I would not even have the money to pay for them, I hope you can find a better solution to this,

I wouldn't. I don't want to go to see a therapist.

I think it's too expensive $1000 for 12 treatments, but actually I also don't understand how the therapy costs here. Meanwhile, if you have a lot of money, and the therapist has tested his abilities, maybe it doesn't matter, what matters is the result. Some people are willing to pay high prices for satisfying results, instead of paying cheap but end up wasting money because the results are disappointing.

I think the price is a bit high to tell the truth, have you tried to look for other therapists to see if they can raise a better price? It would be good not to stay with the first option in this case.
