They are most people's favorite pets and have been domesticated since a long time ago. We have also wild cats who just live their lives freely in the woods, forests or just stray around homes. I have been hearing this phrase that cats have seven lives. A certain minister from Iraq if am not wrong also quoted the fact that he had seven lives just like the cat before he died . Is this true? Or it's one of the superstitions around?

Yes majority have said it here I had the idea of seven since where I have been brought up that's the number of lives it has 7

I do not know about having the lives in humans but I do know cats are very agile and avoid a lot of hurts this way.

Cat have nine lives and they get into a lot of trouble sometimes. They are very nosey creatures and that gets them into trouble.

I am a cat person and do enjoy their company. I believe the legend of nine lives started in ancient Egypt, where three was a lucky number so three times three was very lucky and cats had an association with the gods

I have three cats and I believe they have nine lives too. They live longer and are sometimes more tenacious and adaptable than dogs. Here's a pic of my cats. The black-streaked kitten was given to a friend.
