In some ways, covid forced people to come up with innovative ideas to counteract the problems. Friends of ours who owned a restaurant started offering to deliver meals around the town and this worked out quite well for them.
In Ireland, eating places came up with the idea of outdoor shelters which would allow people to have their coffee/cake/meals without breaking the social distancing laws.
We saw these types of shelters in quite a few places. This one is at a service station which also has washing and drying machines on the hard standing to one side of the shop itself. We did some washing there and read our books in the car while we waited.

During the covid pandemic, many of the restaurants closed here. I wish they had held on longer because their areas were good ones for restos. Now, they are relocating with increased fees and with unsure income. Some did make home deliveries and these ones were the ones that survived.

A guy came selling fruits and vegetables in his push cart so that people had their stuff at the door

Those are neat for a lot of reasons. Not just helping with covid, but you can eat outside while being sheltered from the sun or rain (unless it’s windy, of course).

That's a very innovative way to solve a problem.
