3 May - What I'm Thankful for Today

Good evening. It's been a long but good day.
I'm thankful for the little things, like movement. I needed to use the walker today. My left side is tender and I think I have a broken rib, but have no idea how I broke it. All I know is that it's difficult to move and breathe without the walker. So, I'm thankful for the movement.
I'm thankful I could help my friend down the hall to go with her to take her car to get fixed and bring her back home and take her this afternoon to pick it up.
I'm thankful for my co-host for the book club we're starting. She got the flyers ready and I already have my first sign-up. I sold a book to the first person today and my co-host yesterday. I'll need to order more books as I only have one copy left of Thread of Evidence. The name of the book club is The Mad Hatters Tea Party Book Club.
I'm thankful I got the book I printed up yesterday to take to Writer's Guild fixed. It was a mess with the front pages and numbering. It took a while to get it done as Word doesn't make anything easy. It's fixed now and I'm happy.
I'm thankful for the steps I got today. I'm not pushing the exercise and walking. With my back and left side hurting like they are, my step goal is only 3000. I have over 5000 today and that's without trying other than to ride the bike during the exercise class this morning.
I'm thankful for the weather. It's in the high 50s. I wouldn't be surprised if we reached 60 today. I started out with my winter jacket this morning and ended up with only my sweater when I took my friend to get her car this afternoon. I'm thankful I could turn off the heat.
I'm thankful for dandelions - the first flower of spring. They're dotting the grass today. There was nothing there yesterday.
Okay, that's my day. Not what I expected, but I still got done what I needed to do.
What are you thankful for today? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.

How odd that your rib would be inexplicably hurt so badly. I hope it doesn’t take as long to recover as it sounds like it will.
My dad had to go visit a member of his congregation at the heart hospital today, and since he was going that way he offered to turn my holter monitor I wore last week into my doctor’s office so I didn’t have to make the trip myself. So, I am thankful I didn’t have to go out and do it, and I am also thankful the person he visited in the hospital (who is a dear man) is going to be okay as well.

Someone said it might be a stress fracture. They happen like that. Thank you. I hope it doesn't take long to heal too.
I'm glad your dad took your Holter monitor to the doctor's office on his way to the hospital. I'm glad the man is doing well.

You have had a fulfilling day with lots to be thankful for. You're blessed. Savor the moment.
I am thankful for being able to wake up to another day with a weather that is only at a lower temperature than yesterday. I am thankful I was able to renew my expired atm card after a brief conversation with the alert bank clerk.
I am thankful I was able to buy the food I was craving today - plant-based burgers and coke-zero, I was able to buy some Korean desserts too, which I have been craving to eat for months now. I chance on a Korean store at the mall.
I am thankful I am still strong to babysit my grandkid while my DIL cooked lunch.
I know I will be thankful for more as the day progresses.

The rib sounds concerning. I hope you will see about it if the pain continues.
I am so glad to read that someone besides myself appreciates dandelions. I still remember my kids bringing me fistfulls of them when they were little. I wish people would stop killing them--they help the bees, and they aren't hurting anything by blooming. But then again, I prefer the natural nature look, not the prim and proper starched yards.
Today I was thankful that there were no appointments and no emergencies. Long story, but trust me, sometimes that in itself is a huge victory!

I do know a broken rib or two can be so painful. The main concern with breaking one, especially as we age, it that people tend to breathe very shallow with a broken rib, which can easily lead to pneumonia. So breathe deep, Valerie!!
