Anyone else macrome?

Maybe this will help you figure out how to do macrame. It's really easy. Although, I noticed that this site tells you to use hemp. I never use hemp. I use embroidery floss. It's much prettier & easier to work with. :) http://www.craftsitedirectory.com/macrame/index.html

I have a macrame strap I am making for a gourd canteen. Macrame can be done with string, rope, twine, hemp, sisal, and many other kinds of cordage. Beads can be added if your rope fits through them. Hemp necklaces are very popular in CA right now. But I agree...I think it's scratchy and would rather use something like cotton if it's going to be touching my skin. You can also make plant hangers, belts, purses, belly dancing hipbands, wall decorations and other things.

Macrame is comming back. If you search for it or hemp jewelry, you can find alot out there. I've seen alot of very beautifull and some plane designs. I'm not trying to promote, just what to let you know where you can see pics. It's interesting and fun to do. I'm always trying new designs.

Macrome isn't something you have...it's something you do. It's a hobby. You make patterns by tying knots with different colored string. I really enjoy doing it.
