Day 299
(Proverbs 29:2) When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when a wicked man rules, the people groan.
There is a lot of groaning in the world today. Not many world leaders are righteous. It has been that way from the beginning. People try to elect a person who will work for the people, not against them.
Solomon said the people rejoice when righteous people rule. In Israel’s history, only a small handful of people qualified as righteous people. His father, David, was among the righteous kings.
As Christians, you look for God-fearing men and women to run for office and hope they will live up to their claims. However, not many righteous people run for office. Even among Christian leadership in the churches, it is hard to find people who qualify as righteous. Tolerance is the name of the game in politics and the church. And the people groan.
Are you in a position of authority? Are you righteous? Do you seek God before every decision you make? Does wisdom govern your life? If you can answer yes to those questions, then rejoice because God is on the throne of your life. People who know you will also rejoice because your life is one of submission to God. If you cannot answer yes to those questions, then you need to make changes in your life so that God is in control and not you. If you set out to please the people, they will groan at your bad decisions.
It is time to evaluate your life. Jesus said you are to seek His kingdom first.
(Matthew 6:33) But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. (NKJV)
Your life will have order and the people will rejoice.
The psalmist prayed for God to order his steps.
(Psalms 119:133) Direct my steps by Your word, and let no iniquity have dominion over me.
When you ask God to direct your life, you will find peace and blessings from Him and you and those around you will rejoice because God is in control.
Let’s pray: Father, order my life according to Your Word so that I can rejoice in You and know the decisions I make are according to Your will and not mine. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Amen. Enlightening words. Righteous men should lead in government and institutions, but at times money rules, and people are swayed to put in office men who have power and money.
If righteous men rule, then the world would be a better place to live in.

Yes, it would be a better world if righteous men ruled. Have a blessed day.
