No Need to Tell Me

I took Sadie out for a walk this morning, and you could already feel the humidity start to set in. We had a thunderstorm in the middle of the night so the ground was still soaking wet; except for the occasional pile of dog poo some inconsiderate jerk of a resident left for out for everyone else to step in, it was a gorgeous, bird chirping kind of morning.
As I got closer to the main office, I looked up to meet eyes with a police officer holding a rifle, pointed at the ground. He motioned for me to move back, but that was unnecessary as I was backpedaling already. After another police cruiser pulled up, he and another officer started to surround the apartment building on the other side of the main office. I took my safety bound self, and dog right back up to my apartment. I am not nosey enough to hang around.
I saw the U.S. Marshals break down a guy's door once, and some neighbors actually stood around and watched. What are you doing?
You really wouldn't think we would get a police presence, but we do.

@AmbiePam No, every time you leave, please bring it in case you witness something or feel you are in danger. In today's day and age we just cannot be sure anymore.
Can I ask you to keep me in your prayers please. I was diagnosed with pneumonia (again) yesterday. I feel pretty weak and down in the dumps from it.

Wow, that would have been a little scary. However, I probably would have tried to watch if I could do so safely.

Years back, I called the police on a neighbor and his wife having a brawl in their front yard, screaming curse words at each other... I yelled at them to take it in their house as the rest of us didn't want to hear it. (The wife looked to be giving as good as she got, so I didn't feel the need to help her out.) The guy yelled back at me, telling me my turn was coming next. That's when I called the police. I TOLD him I was calling the police! When the police answered, the dude was still screaming what he'd do to the police if they showed up... But, when we could hear the sirens, both of them ran into their house and locked the door...
The police officer asked me which house and I pointed... They went over and knocked... then came back and told me nobody answered, like I couldn't see that already. I told the cop I thought they were drunk... The police went back, kicked the door down and arrested both of them.
Yup! I stood there and watched, just like all the other neighbors who heard their fight.

Very inconsiderate of other dog owners not to clean up after their dogs. I suppose there will always be owners who are disrespectful like that.
I am glad you were able to get back to your apartment without getting into the middle of what was going on. I am not that nosey either when it comes to police with weapons drawn.
We had a passing shower which made this morning pretty humid too. Going to have off/on again showers through Tuesday. Have a blessed weekend

On the positive side, in the last month I have noticed an uptick in people picking up after their dogs. Unfortunately, the last few days people seem to have backslidden. With every management change, I always ask if they can get more active in fixing the problem. They claim they have people not picking up after their dog on camera. Then fine them, please!

That's frightening. I hope it wasn't serious like mass shootings, etc. but you would have heard the burst of gunfire if it was right? Perhaps, they were apprehending someone.
It's good you were forewarned and were able to get home safely. Stay safe and take care.

Well I admit that I would get back a safe distance and keep watching because to me it’s important to know what is taking place or happening in my neighborhood. So glad you were safe.

Observant of you to see the first officer and to get to safety.

it's startling to witness a police presence with weapons and feel the tension in the air. Safety is of utmost importance, and it's understandable to prioritize it above satisfying one's curiosity
