They showed that good adaptations can be made, without spoling the film altogether.
Have a nice day!

I have seen one of the movies, it has been a long time ago but I thought it was a good movie. I have never read any of the books.

I have not read the books of Lord of the rings. But I have seen all three movies more than one time. They are one of my favorite movies of all time. It is a great story and shows how brave and courageous the main characters are.

Fantastic movie, they really deserve the 'Best Pictures' awards they received. In our country everytime the movie is showing in the theaters 8 out of 10 cinemas are dedicated to them in order to accommodate the vast number of moviegoers. I tried reading the book but I was in college then (too much school work), I had a hard time concentrating on the book so I had to stop.
Greatest trilogy I've ever seen!

lord of the rings is one of the few movies which is better than the book. the book is quite good in itself, but it can get boring sometimes. peter jackson removed the boringness from his movies. personally i think his movies are not only valuable for literature buffs, they are important for all the coming directors in the ages.

The things he was able to imagine and describe astound me. When we were in Jr High, my friends and I all read it and decided which characters we were. There was even a popular song back then that we decided was about the book, it wasn't. I went and got the whole collection to keep in my library when I got a house. I try to read them every year.

I read the books in middle and high school, and they were amazing. I went back and reread The Hobbit earlier this year, and hope my daughter will enjoy them before too long.
The movies were stunning, especially the second and third. I don't know anyone who can watch the third one without having an emotional reaction. "You, my friends, bow to no one." What an amazing scene that was. I'm sad to hear that do to contractual disputes over money issues, Peter Jackson will not be directing The Hobbit when it eventually goes into production.

It's happening once again. The book is better than the movie. But hopefully this movie is great. It's not as the book but it's great. It has great effects, don't you think?

I like very much this trilogy, I have tried to read the books, but I have only read several pages from the first. It's written in an old language, hard to read at the present. Tolkien was a genius for his times, also for our times he's a good writer. I like very much movies, I have seen all the trilogy at the cinema, the landscape selected is beautiful.

I agree on the masterpieces comment. I enjoyed the books and the movies very much. I wouldn't say the best books, but as a fictional series they're up there in the top 4. They rank with: Harry Potter series, Narnia, & The Mists of Avalon. Those are my all my favorite fictional books of all time.
