How can the paparazzi be stopped from endangering the lives of celebrities? Any ideas?
Remember what happened to Princess Diana? - now her son Harry, wife Megan and her mother found themselves in a similar situation which could have had disastrous results.
The incident happened Tuesday night in New York after they had left an awards ceremony. According to reports "The chase involved half a dozen cars with reckless driving including going through red lights, driving on the pavement and reversing down a one way".

I also read the interview with the security guy. I also listened to interviews on a number of newsfeeds. They also took refuge in a police station - that was confirmed. They don't have to fabricate news to be popular, they were too popular - that is why they left Britain for some peace.

They could just stop and let the reporters scream at them for a few hours and take all the pictures they want... That would definitely make people decide they didn't want to be famous.

@Kandae11 Famous people are usually wealthy. They can always hire guards and sue any reporters that chase them like that. It IS endangering their lives.

I heard about that earlier today. I immediately thought of Princess Di. It is terrible that paparazzi are allowed to chase people down like that. If there is not a law, there should be. Haven't they ever thought of using a photo zoom so that they can get a picture from a distance without putting anyone in danger?

@Kandae11 I just read an updated story where people spoke to police, and eyewitnesses, and I have some better sounding news. They were definitely followed, but there was no speeding or reckless driving like first reported. People were overwhelmingly trying to get pictures, and it could have gotten bad if someone lost their temper, but it was made to sound similar to Diana’s, and it wasn’t. Apparently, their limo got stuck behind a stalled trash truck, and they were boxed in for awhile and understandably, it made them really nervous. But when the driver offered to take them to the police station if they felt unsafe, they declined.

This is really strange. They could have asked for police protection.

I think the more you put yourself out there to the media which both have done relentlessly you're going to attract photographers and paparazzi in any public setting. It comes with the territory. Get bodyguards and deal with it as there really isn't a way to stop them completely.

It's unfortunate that history seems to repeat itself, as we witnessed with Princess Diana. Protecting the safety and privacy of public figures is indeed a challenging task

I guess I must think differently than most other people--yes, they are famous, and yes, according to all concerned they are royals. But they are also people--people trying to live their lives and care for their families. These stupid paparazzi idiots chasing everyone around are all just ridiculous. To be chased like his mother was! Enough already. People who do that to others deserve to go to jail. Get a different job, that's not a good one.

Aggression is terrible to deal with--people just get wild and do things that are so stupid. They all want big money and think they are going to get it that way.

What happened to them on Tuesday night was absolutely unacceptable. As a society, we cannot let reckless paparazzi endanger the lives of celebrities – either intentional or not – as it puts everyone involved at risk. This type of behavior should not be tolerated, and it's important that we do all we can to protect these vulnerable individuals from further harm.
The first step is to advocate for strong anti-paparazzi legislation that prevents photographers from engaging in such hazardous activities and holds them accountable for their actions. Additionally, we must raise public awareness on the issue and create an environment where those in the spotlight can live their lives without fear of being followed and harassed. Lastly, we should encourage celebrities to take extra safety precautions when out and about, such as travelling with security personnel or avoiding certain routes. Overall, it is our responsibility to ensure that all individuals – regardless of status or fame – are able to live their lives without having to worry about their safety.
I hope everyone is okay after this incident happened.
