Yes, I know plastic is non-biodegradable, but I don't really have much of a choice over here.

Can you imagine what it would be like without plastics? What we should be thinking of is proper measures to dispose them off and recycling.

Yes, most grocery stores here bag into plastic bags, but they also have recycling bins at the front so you can bring the bags back.
Sometimes I cut the bags into long spiral strips and wind it into balls of 'yarn' and knit and crochet with it. Nothing wrong with using them as long as you keep them out of the land fills.
If I go somewhere like a festival or a fair I take canvas bags with me to put things in.

Well that may be but I have put them to much use putting dirty diapers in them ,lining trash cans with them, taking wipes to the daycare center. I guess its just so many uses for them.At least im some what recycling them.

Mostly I use the green bags when I am shopping but sometimes forget to take them with me and end up with what the shop puts my things in. That is generally plastic bags but here in Australia more and more places are using plastic bags made from already recycled materials.
Once I get the shopping home, then I reuse the plastic bags to store things in or else for the rubbish.
