I have worked in call center's for about 5 years now and truthfully i cant take the stress of working in this line anymore. I have seen people working at these companies in the same role for about 25 years sitting taking calls and I don't understand how they can do that without even trying to grow in the companies, I kept thinking to myself I don't wanna be like this, I want to live not come home sleep wake up go to work and continue the same routine until i leave this earth. I used to love interacting with people but I feel like I have lost myself on the way, I feel like i have a built a wall and I just want to break and get back to who i was before my life changed and i have no clue how to start.

My son works at one of these centers. He is so stressed out after working all day that it is affecting his health. He can't really quit because everything is so horribly expensive these days.

Yes that's true, when I was a kid the prices weren't so high I wish we could go back to those days and rethink our steps to not fall into this trap, I tried searching for a different job but sadly the pay is too low, or we have to get a certificate for things that we are already good at... ahhhh what a crazy world we live in.. Its all about money

Oh, I am so sorry. I worked at a call center for a very brief time when I was seventeen, and knew it wasn’t for me. Is there something you did before you worked at the call center that you were good at?

@Emerald31 I don't blame you. Do you think it would be worth it to try one more time? Maybe you could do a little internet research on a place before you set up an interview in an attempt to avoid an unprofessional place? I have a friend who is a professional masseuse, and if you went through what she went through, I sympathize greatly. She now has her own business out of her house.

@AmbiePam well the last interview I went I must have have been 19 at that time and a person asked me to meet him by a mall so I took my brother and went with me and I waited there then he came in his stupid car and he told me to ask my brother to wait outside so I said ok and I spoke to him he said he was willing to pay me 50k I dint agree because a fresher starting salary is lesser and I know the rules for that line I told him I'm Sorry I think U got me confused with some other line of business which I am not interested in.. He said I would regret he decision Nah.. I blocked his number in front of him. after that I just gave up Its was disgusting to see what people are the other places asked me to wear a short skirt hahaha are they crazy they dont the simple clothing rules for a professional.. but then again I hope one day I can open my own and probably tell people that massages are not what they think it is and try to change the mindsets

It's alright.. Yes, I did a course for cosmetology and I really enjoy the part of being a professional masseuse I learnt whoever i trained on told me my hands were magic and they felt relaxed but sadly when I went for interviews... Lets just say its was very unprofessional I must have gone for a 100 interviews and I just gave up after that... I dint like people not being professional

Aren't there any ways for promotions, different roles or even moving to a different company? I know it can get monotonous and repetitive. But hold on, sometimes the job market may be difficult and a tough job is better than no job. Build a CV, make the contacts, upgrade your skills and you should be able to move ahead. It's early years in your career and sometimes the grind at the start sets a solid platform for later on in your career.

Depends on your qualifications. You need to have something to fall back on And I wonder if there are any prospects for promotion at Call Centres.

Every job is like this. You have to wake up and go to the work and sleep when you return home. Nothing new in it. But a call center job is very difficult I must say as you have to keep talking to the people over phone which may cause head ache. My wife used to do a job in a call center but she left it with in a month.

I am not good at this kind of job because I believe my communication skills are not strong, and I think the salary for this job is still quite decent

@Emerald31 I think physical health is more important. If you have an easy job but earn less money, then be frugal
