Neither can I sing well nor play any musical instrument but love to sing and even bought a Casio Keyboard and learnt to play a few notes and tunes.
I first learnt to identify which key belonged to which note and wrote them down as I was playing on the keyboard. Slowly I learnt to play a few tunes. I enjoyed doing this when no one was around. My husband with his good ear for music and being a good singer would not have quite liked listening to what I played (lol)
It was totally for me and me alone
Do you play any musical instrument?

I played piano from age 4-15. To be honest, I didn't think I was very good. But in my teens, I worked and bought a small keyboard, even though we had a piano in the house. I bought a larger keyboard as an adult, and now I have an electric piano. But I don't have much time to play . Oh and I did teach myself to play guitar.

@allknowing Well, when I was a child, I actually did not have interest in it . . . my parents had me take lessons for a musical instrument because all the cousins did that. Although I am grateful for the knowledge now, back then I did not have a passion for it. I do want to spend time reviewing music theory and actually relearning to play fluidly . . . yah, maybe one day I will make it a point to devote a chunk of time to do it.

What made you lose interest specially since you have the hang of it and is it not a nice thing to spend time on it?

I have it at home and it is my mom's. In the past she learned to play it. My son also played it in his childhood. Later we bought a piano so that my son could learn it, too. Today sometimes my husband will play the piano in his spare time. As to me, I don't play these at all. In the past I ever played the orcarina
