I'm sorry

Have you ever uttered the word "sorry"? How many times would you say it in a day? Or are you too proud to apologize for your mistakes?
Some say that saying sorry is a sign of weakness. But I don't believe so. For me, it's a sign of strength because it takes courage to accept your mistakes. The easy way out is to deny any wrongdoing you have done.
So, now, I would like to apologize to anyone I may have offended or hurt here. I'm sorry if I have offended you because of my words, opinions, or actions. I didn't mean to offend you. I may be trying to be funny or make it appear like I am smart, but I would never offend or hurt anyone of you intentionally.
So, I am sorry. if I did.
I rest my case.

When I was a teenager, and my parent's first had me talk to a counselor for my depression at fifteen, she told me to quit apologizing to people, which was ironic because my mom had told me I say I'm sorry for things that aren't my fault.
I want to make sure I apologize when I've hurt someone, or done something wrong. Saying I'm sorry can mend a lot of relationships, and I hope I can be humble enough to always accept responsibility for my actions. I'm sure I've offended some here, but I would hope they'd know it wasn't intentional.

Some people say sorry but do not know the meaning of the word..meaning they are only saying it for their benefit.
They have no conscience to even feel sorry.
I learned this many years ago.
I always take it with a grain of salt.
Also, those types which I mentioned, love for you to feel contrite as they then can hurt you more.

I am not too proud to apologize, but there are days I do not need to say "I am sorry" at all. We are my husband and I and I try to do nothing that could hurt him. As a German user used to say "Sorry" is something than American and Canadians say all the time, even when not needed.

@Jenaisle Just keep trying. It is harder to do it when writing as people can't see your face. So you can't easily smile at them

I do say a sorry when I feel I am really wrong but some people say a sorry just to save the situation and keep committing the same mistake time and again.

I am strong enough to admit when I am wrong. Taking pride in my faults. You're right, it takes strength to own up to your mistakes.

The only I never say I am sorry is when I share a story on social media that does not mention harming another person. If I am wrong saying something that I know is offensive, I am man enough to admit guilt and move forward.

You have nothing to apologize for. I agree with you that it takes strength to admit you were wrong. Enjoy your Sunday.

When we walk around a corner, and nearly bump into someone, coming the other way, we usually both say sorry to each other. It sort of breaks the situation over, and we both laugh a little and walk on.
When we have really done something thoughtless towards someone, we should apologise for that too.
The word sorry, is used here, also, when we do not hear someone properly, and we will say sorry so that they repeat what they last said again.
What is the value of saying the word sorry, then?
Sorry is a lever into love, in the fact that it allows some entry of a conciliatory humour, or forgiving softness, to reverberate in the someone, being said sorry to, rather than for the situation to fester in them, in a non-loving, almost vengeful way.

Wow, this is entirely a positive perspective. Yes, you say sorry too when you haven't heard what the other person said and you want them to repeat it.
You're right, saying sorry could act as a conciliatory humor. Thank you for this thoughtful response.

@Jenaisle Thanks.
We should never leave it too late to say sorry, but say it as soon as we feel that we have slighted, or caused angst, for another person.

@Starmaiden Really? I'm laughing. Then you're all a courageous and humble lot. I learned something new again. Thank you.

@Jenaisle Canadians are notorious for saying "sorry".
If you stepped on my foot, I'm the one saying "Sorry".
