Anyone for frog?

I put up a photo of a frog the other day and it reminded me of another frog story although this one is less appetising, if you’ll pardon the pun. And if you’re eating, you might prefer to move on to another discussion. In the late 1990s (I think) we and another couple took twelve year 12 boys to Thailand on a community project. The boys 16/17 years old. The Karen village was well to the north near the Myanmar border. On the way we stopped for a meal at a roadside café and one of the boys found a whole frog in his soup. Although considered a delicacy, none of us were inclined to eat it and it was returned to the soup pot.

Oh dear. I definitely could not have eaten that, even if someone thought I was being rude.

I couldn't either. I'd need it cut up or something.

Oh my goodness, this sounds disgusting. Only frog legs are served in France. I tried once and I was not at all impressed.

@JudyEv Very little meat, full of bones, it tastes like a "fishy" chicken.

There are some foods that it isn't in our culture to eat so it becomes pretty hard to imagine even tasting them.

I've had frog legs before. I don't think I'd have them again. They taste like chicken; but they are kind of gross. Have a good week.

@LindaOHio Apart from that on time, I've never seen it in stores or restaurants. As you say, why not just eat chicken?

I do not think I would put a frog in my mouth. My friend went to France and she had some. They were delicious according to her.

I have eaten fried and barbequed frogs legs when I was a kid camping. I had caught the bullfrog and my Dad had fixed it for us. It was fine like chicken.

Omg! In some provinces in my country, frog is a delicacy and I heard it tasted much more delicious than chicken. It's a special specie of frog though. And I really want to try it actually. Just don't have the opportunity to do so.

@JudyEv They're not in restaurants here too and not in shops as well. But farmers would sometimes cook it. I'm not sure if there are cities in this country that sell them.

That would put me off eating too ! Frogs have plerocercoid in their muscle, which would even make people suffer from a disease of brain.
