Not Dead Yet.

After reading about this latest incident l must remind my younger, close family members to please ensure and double check that l am really dead when pronounced dead. Five hours into her wake, family members and other mourners were shocked to hear banging coming from the inside of the coffin. This happened in Ecuador and the supposedly 'dead' woman was taken out alive. I have heard about happenings like this before and l often wonder - if you are not really dead, would you not truly die from lack of air wherever your body is stored? I have read the news. Even your body is closed inside a casket there is always enough oxygen inside to live a few hours. In our country the coffin must remain open during 48 hours, to avoid this kind of accidents.

That is very good to know. Then l think about where the body is stored before it is moved to the coffin...

@LadyDuck So isn't the body put in a storage area similar to a fridge?

That is like a horror story and that poor woman might have nightmares for a while. She was not ready to give up her soul and got to heaven.

I'm glad they were able to revive the woman and know that she is alive before she got buried. That's a horrible thing being buried alive.

I wonder about those who were not discovered in time. Doctors should be more careful.

That would be quite a shock. Here in the US if you do not embalm the body it must be either cremated or buried within 24 hours, I believe.
