Definitely an Earthquake.

Sitting on the living room sofa while my legs crossed and my laptop on my lap, replying to my mylot notifications, I felt movement. I feel I am being swayed so I look at the stand fan, then at the hanging light fixtures, and yes they are all swaying as well that confirmed that there was just an earthquake here a few minutes ago. It lasted quite a while as I was able to gather my kids in the living room, probably less than a minute (30 to 40 seconds maybe). I am still trying to find out the epicenter of the earthquake. We actually have three active volcanoes right now.

I hope the epicenter isn't anywhere close to you/your home and everyone stays safe there.

@rakski You're welcome. I'm glad it was far away.

I had the same thing; I was working at my laptop when I heard a loud thump, and when I looked over at our TV, it was slightly swaying. I initially assumed I was just feeling queasy, but when I looked at my aquarium, the water was off-balance and swaying as well. As the water in my tank would typically remain motionless if there was no movement, that proved it was an earthquake.

As a child, I have never felt those quakes, or maybe we were so occupied with other things and tired as kids to feel them...slept through them. As adult, I have been through 2 of them. First one was sharp...may not have been more than 5 seconds.....but really scary felt it through my belly kinda..as if it had some link to the core. Very loud too. The other lasted perhaps 20 seconds...but not something that scared me as much as the first one. I am glad you all are safe, and there are no damages to property either. Active volcanoes... Blink. I always thought your country was very beautiful. This is scary.

Earthquakes are very scary events to go through since they can occur at any time.

@rakski I am in agreement with you since a storm when it is coming there is a chance to stay safe.

I was inside the bus when that happened. The bus was still in the terminal and waiting for passengers. I didn't feel it but I heard the emergency alerts of our phones and I knew something happened. And when I checked my phone, it said that there was an earthquake.

@brokenbee As per Philvocs, it is not related to any volcanic activity even the Taal volcano

@rakski Yes it is good we're safe... I still don't know if the earthquake is related to the Mayon volcano....

We feel the tremors from time to time, but they are not severe. We think ours is from processes they use to pull up oil with high pressure water. It makes things shift.
