Do you ever get unpacked after moving?

We moved about 4 mths ago. I still have things in the shed that I have to go through and find a place for them. I found a whole tote full of stuff I was looking for. I was looking for the Christmas Lights for the house and found other stuff.

Yeah, I still have boxes that haven't been unpacked. I moved in October. I keep saying that I'll get to them but I don't. But I don't think there's anything that I really "need" in those boxes. But maybe so....hehe.

It is finding another place to put the stuff that kills me. I don't have as much closet space here.

Yeah same here, don't have as much room as I used to. And you don't realize how much stuff you have until you move, lol. Oh, thanks for the best response!

Moving - moving
I hate to admit it but NO! We moved in here over a year ago and I still have boxes in the basement! Common sense would say to just toss them but I don't have the nerve, fearing that it's something we will need eventually! lol Stupid, I know!

They say that if you haven't used the stuff in the unpacked boxes after a certain period of time then you don't need it and should just give it away. I don't know if you ever get fully unpacked, but I have yet to follow the above advice! I moved into my house YEARS ago and we're still trying to get fully settled in. Sad but true...

Yes,but it takes awhile. The thing that seems most helpful in doing this...is to make sure I opnly pack things I know we will need or use. If it is something I won't miss. I don't pack it when moving. I give it away or leave it behind.

That is so funny and true. I moved a year ago and still have things in boxes to go thru. I have less storage space here and don't know where to put things. I bought a shed, but my son has not put it together yet. Its getting winter here so hopefully in the spring.

My husband is anal about leaving things in boxes. When we moved here it took him 3 days to unpack everything and get it into place. The unfortunate thing is that I am a collector of "stuff". He has placed much of the "stuff" in the shed. I can spend hours looking for my craft supplies and then realize that they are in a plastic box in the shed.

I hate seeing things that aren't put away, so I unpack the moment I get to my destination.

I can relate to this. There was a period in my life where we moved a few times in a short amount of time. It seemed senseless to unpack. But now I have been at this house for a few years and I still have things in boxes.lol

This is something that I'm going to be going through soon. I'm really not looking forward to it. I hope you get all unpacked.
