My TV now has problem already black screen but with sound. I plan on not buying another TV anymore. I actually went on the mall yesterday to check on available TV. I just thought now I don't like watching on tv. I always busy using the phone for different things. . I always have the TV on daily for hours usually just to listen it while being on cellphone. I don't sit in front to watch. I just usually move around at home doing something else while listening to it. I will postpone buying a new tv.I will just use my old tv to just listen to the news since the audio is still working very well. And the sound of TV is much better than a phone. If anything I need to watch I'll just do it on my phone with YouTube or other app. Would you still buy TV if you don't usually sit in front to watch on it and just listen to it.

If I really never used it, I probably wouldn't bother getting another one unless I had company often, and my company wanted to watch television. Personally, I would have to have a TV to be satisfied. I mean a person can live without one, but I'd rather not.

@hotsummer It sounds like you are making a wise decision. No, I don't have Netflix, although I used to. I just didn't watch it enough to justify keeping it. I tend to watch more things on traditional cable.

@hotsummer Yes, it just isn't worth it for me. Other people practically live on it.

@LadyDuck I don't see dvd or cd anymore on the stores. Before whenever I go to the mall I would pass different stores inside the mall selling it but it's expensive though specially movies. Though I think it's still available but it's very hard to find a store now that sells it We used to collect DVD of old Hollywood movies from 1960's

It's up to you since we still enjoy our Smart TV and enjoy watching Netflix and other internet-based platforms such as youtube and others. We do not use the TV as it used to be picking up signal from an antenna or thru cable anymore, we purely used them for the internet only. We disconnected our Cable already.

@hotsummer True Since the advent of smartphones, the use of many has diminished like telephones, TV and even laptops have diminished. The Smart Phone has been an all-in-one gadget since you can browse the net do your social networking, do banking transactions almost everything even an alarm clock.

Indeed it's very hard to not having TV at all. Like I can bear with dark picture or screen of my TV than nothing at all. Though for others having a dark screen with audio only isn't TV anymore.

@allknowing yes, but with many mixed reviews, I can't decide which brands and what model to get. Seems all brands of tv has some problems with their television

When I am home, I enjoy the tv. I like the news, weather, some old movies, shows about animal and places I have not seen. Plus, I am one of those weird people that can't sleep unless the tv is on. It's on low, but it's on. Put it on a boring show, and it lulls me to sleep.

Yes tv is good source of noise that help us sleep and relax like I do. And there's indeed so many boring TV shows here. Nothing worth watching for me anymore except the news

The kids watch more tv than us and it's usually YouTube or something from the smart tv apps. I don't have a cable connection. I watch a few times a month - movie or sport.

Indeed when there's nothing good to see on local channel on tv, YouTube on smart TV is what we watch instead. Though it's nothing different than using a mobile phone. It's like it's not a tv anymore

it's possible that the backlight on your TV doesn't turn ON so it doesn't show anything there, you can pay attention around the screen if there are still motion pictures even though they are dim. if the show is good of course I watch TV.

Yes I can still those motion and the actual show only is kind dark though still visible. I can still trace where is the face of the actor on the screen though I can't tell clearly who is that exactly

15 years without tv is indeed impressive. i don't think I can do that. maybe a year is very long enough not having one.
