Guava cheese

When we were living in the city we could get the best guavas - large in size, yellow in colour and white inside, tasting sweet.
They were in season during Christmas time. And that is the time we made guava cheese.
Guava cheese is a sweet made from guavas. Guavas are cut and boiled in a bit of water. They are then passed through a sieve to remove the seeds. To 4 cups of pulp 3 cups of sugar is added and cooked until it forms into a lump and changes sides. A little bit of ghee is also added . When the cheese is done it is spread on a tray to which ghee is applied and cut into pieces when cooled.

We found guavas for sale in our local supermarket so I bought six of them. (They were packed six to a case and weren't sold separately.) They are about the size of golf balls and we had to look them up online to see how to eat them. These are a greenish-yellow and are supposed to be ripe. They aren't sweet, though.
I threw the rest of them away and will stick to drinking guava juice from now on. But, at least I tried them.

Unless they are fully ripe and not forced to ripen they are not tasty. You could have made a stew out of them. Chop them into tiny bits, cook them in sugar and add some cinnamon

@allknowing The picture looks very appetizing now!
In my opinion, the most unusual sounding things to me are often the best.

This is not my image and in fact that I think is under done. It gets a chocolate colour on its own without adding colour

I have never had a guava and do not really know what it is, It sounds interesting, I am not a fan of sugar at all however and it sounds very sweet,
