What do you think is your mental age?

Sometimes, I wonder what my mental age is. At times, I think like an 8-year-old excited about trivial things and raring to conquer the world.
And often, I think like a 90-year-old, exhausted about everything in life; being unable to lift a finger for anything.
If I try to gauge my mental age, I would be between 20 to 50 years old.
Come to think of it, when I reached my real age of 50, I had stopped counting the years. They say that age is just a number, what matters is what’s inside one’s heart.
What about you? What do you think of this concept? What is your mental age?

This photo is beautiful, such a pretty young girl.
If you mean the "physical mental age", tested by doctor to check how much my brain functions, I am in my early 40.
How I feel, most of the time I feel in my early 30, some days I feel as I were 100 years old.

Is that one of your grand children? She's just beautiful!
I can tell you I felt a lot younger last year before cancer.

I would say I feel a lot like you; sometimes I'm an excitable eight year old, and then other times I am mentally weary like I would be in my eighties. If I had to give a gauge of my mental age, I would guess 30 to 35. There are too many lessons I can't unlearn that raise my mental age. Now, physically? Undoubtedly, I am sixty-five. In reality, I'm a grand forty-two.

@Jenaisle I was thinking that at "our age", we experienced the "younger" ages, so we can say we feel that way since we went through it. So what do the younger folks mean when they say they feel like they're 40/50/60 . . . what do they think that's supposed to feel like . .. hmmm .

There are quizzes that determine our IQ and EQ. I think I should go there and then get back here (lol)

I also do not know since it depends on the situation. When at work I feel old and matured. When I am home I feel like a child wanting to rest and play and eat. When I am out in the sea for example I feel like a teenager who could do many things there.

Inside one's heart for sure. I think I feel like I am about 37. Mentally that is. Now if my physical body would just catch up.

I never think of my mental age, I leave my mind to stay as it is, the same unaged tool, for my soul, which is unaging too.
Our brain might physically age, but to my mind, our mind never ages. I do not worry about the mental age of my brain either, as whatever it is, it is, just a tool for my real self, my spiritual self.
We are a spiritual being, having a human existence, in our body, and brain, not a human, having a spiritual experience. If we see it that way, our brain, and body, serve us, rather than our thinking that they age, or deteriorate, because the real us, never does.
I think our consciousness, and awareness, levels can change, but I see them as being connected to our heart, and soul, more than to our mind.
The more we love, and understand the truths of our loving, our conscious awareness level grows with this loving.

I got your point, this is from a spiritual point of view. If we connect more to our soul, then even if we age physically, the real us won't because our level of awareness grows with the love that we possess.
Hence, our bodies should serve us rather than us serving our bodies - if we consider our spiritual age.
An enlightening point of view.

@Jenaisle Thanks.
I am glad that you saw my point, and it is why I do not take much time to think about my physical, or mental, age, but try to grow myself spiritually to be more mature in my soul, growing in wisdomed truth, and in the understanding of God, and his creation too.

My mental age is 22; but my body feels like 90. I think a lot about the time I got married at the age of 22. Have a good week. Who is the lovely young lady?

I have basically had adult responsibilities since I was a child. In a way, I was always just an old soul, without much of a childhood. But it was strengthening for what was before me, and built me in to a stronger woman.
As long as we keep learning, we are never really old. And as long as we never give up, I think we keep on learning. Maybe I'm wrong in this, but that's my take on it all.

I think reading helps slow aging, as well. It seems as if people who read avidly, usually stay alert and retain things longer in life.

I honestly have no idea but I like to think I think more maturely for my age.
Sometimes though, I know I think like a child.
