Scary weather forecast here.

We have had weeks of draught. No rain at all except for that sprinkle last week that literally lasted 90 seconds, and didn't even wet the ground all the way. The smoke days a few weeks ago from the wildfire. More dry and dusty days. The really, really bad smoke we have had for the last several days, that put a stop to ball games, outside activities, closed public swimming pools and even some parks. I was so pleased to hear tomorrow we would probably finally get some good rain. Everyone was talking about it today, like it was Christmas!
Now we are under a ''large hail warning'' and from 3AM to 10-11AM, we are forecasted to get some very large hail. Ice is just so destructive. If it hails that bad, it will finish off the farmer's crops that have just been waiting for a nice rain..and do a lot of destruction. I went out and got my flowerpots moved in case it really does happen. My car is in the garage. My phone is on the charger. I think that's all I can really do. I am sure if it gets as bad as they claim it will, we won't have power, either. And it's supposed to be nearly 100 degrees...ugh.
Time will tell. I guess we could go out and gather large hailstones and bring them inside to cool off with? Hmmm....it's a thought.
The weather just gets weirder and weirder. I suppose a massive locust swarm is next?

I hope the Biblical plagues aren't next. I remember last year we had a hail storm so bad my car was totaled, but then, if you didn't have a garage, everyone's car was totaled. Unfortunately, with an apartment complex, there are no garages.
It really would be horrible though if it took out all the crops, and I certainly don't want anyone to suffer without their air conditioner or room fans being able to run. I know you'll take care of yourself, so we'll try not to worry about you.

I will be OK, and I know I am lucky to have an enclosed garage, not everyone is so fortunate. Hail does so much damage. That must have been really bad, to total out your car. And yes, when it's really hot and the power goes down, it is truly miserable. But we'll get through it if it happens. I just worry about those who have to drive in those conditions, or may not have a good sturdy shelter.
Beware, the locusts! ( Let's hope not! )

These times just seem to get crazier. Take care. I'm praying you got rain and not hail.

We are getting some residual smoke and ashes from Canada, in fact the sky is covered today.
New this article about locust swarm
ST. GEORGE — In news that’s not really news to most in Southern Utah, another grasshopper infestation is taking place. While it’s not known if this infestation will rival the infamous 2019 hopper invasion, the winged insects are making their presence know

@MarieCoyle I have those horrible very large grasshoppers in my garden this year. They came from Africa when we had strong winds bringing here the Sahara Desert sand. Those animals are voracious, I am trying to find a way to get rid of them without using chemicals.

Those big ugly ones eat every green living thing. I detest them.

One of our local meteorologists posted about the possible hail and upcoming storms, etc. Then the comments turned to grasshoppers, and people are already convinced that we will have a huge swarm of them soon. They said to expect the unexpected, and here in Illinois I don't think we have ever thought of having a grasshopper swarm. I do know that they happen, though. I remember the one out west from a few years ago.

Yesterday, after the storm hit we were all told to please stay home if at all possible, as many streets were blocked by fallen trees, or downed power lines. So, I didn't get out at all after it hit us. Today, I had a few places I had to go. As I drove, I was totally shocked just how bad it really is. A LOT of damage all over. It's sad.

A person can ony get ready for the maybe. That's all we can do. Our hail wasn't as large as some, but we had damage from 80+mph winds.

I was very fortunate. Many have much damage. My power was down for a long time, but some people still don't have power, and it's been 3 days now!!

Yes, you are right in line for those strong storms. I hope you are safe and sound. I don't think they will make it to Ohio. The smoke isn't as bad today. Hopefully it will rain tomorrow. Have a good day.

I am thankful no lives were lost (no reports as of this writing). That's the most important thing.

Never experienced hail storms - not even a single hailstone falling here I would not mind a little experience though

Nature is rather amazing, when you consider that it can be 100 degrees or hotter, yet the same day a storm can come and we get hail, or iceballs as some people call them.

They are very destructive, and can total out cars, break windows, tear roofing, etc. No one really likes hail.

We made it through. Our winds were beyond horrible, but the hail we got was on the smaller side, thankful for that.

Our weather is changing so quickly, and the effects from it, such as the wildfires burning and the smoke affecting everyone practically on the earth is devestating.
Now maybe governments will work harder to slow the global warning effects, apparently the melting of the iceburgs was not enough.

A lot of people need to wake up. But they won't, so many think it's just a made up thing. It's not.

Yes, we had a very bad storm, very high wind with some hail. Lost power for hours. But all is ok now. Some people still do not have power, I am lucky that I do. Thank you.

You could make Ice cream with the ice. I read a story when I was a kid about a family in the desert who were hot and after it hailed they made Ice cream. It's 100 degrees where I am also, hopefully you will just get rain and not hail.

Yes, I've heard of people doing that, too. The hail we got was on the smaller side, thankfully. But many got very large hail, and a lot of damage from it.
