My bread has mold

I bought it two days ago, and it is said to be expired after a week.
Just now I found out that the bread already has mold. I can't believe it. It has mold before expiration date.
I'm thinking about scraping the mold off the bread as the mold is not all over the bread. I saw some people do that, and they seem to be fine.
What do you think?

i would absolutly throw it away. I would not even give it to Luna. It could be very dangerous. You have to keep bread in the fridge if the outside weather is warm and humid.

You got a bad batch of bread that wasn't stored right or mishandled somewhere in the supply chain. Mold spreads and quickly. Safer to get a new loaf if you can.

It is not recommended to eat it if you find mold on any of it at all. It's been enclosed in the bag--and it has many, many spores you cannot see. You can cut it off, but you will still be eating mold. I would return it.

@Shasha_
I used to teach food safety and sanitation classes so people working in restaurants could get certified. If you could see the spores under a microscope, trust me, you would never just cut off what you see and eat the rest.

@MarieCoyle I bet nobody will want to eat any bread with spores of mold.
By the way, did you work in a restaurant before?

While I don't eat amything that has had mold on it, I have seen plenty of people break cut off pieces of bread or cheese with mold on it, eat the remaining good part, and be fine. Scraping it does make particles go airborne, and could get on the rest of the bread, but it shouldn't be enough to harm you.

I will just throw it away. That bread must have been poorly made if it expired before the expiration date.

Did you put it in the ref? We don't scrape the mold and just throw the bread

Oh, dear! Don't do that, it could be dangerous. So better throw it away. Sometimes it could be life-threatening and you are precious.

Humidity will cause bread to mold quicker. If it is only the heels that are moldy you can remove them. The rest of the bread should be good.
