I can't believe (You can't believe...)

This picture was taken five years ago in 2018 when my niece, Amyra had just turned seven (I'm 37 in it.). In three days, she'll be twelve years old, and I can't believe it! I remember the first time I saw her: laying down on her tummy, with, what is that oxygen thing, a cannula? She had them in her nose because her birth mother had given premature birth. My sister and brother-in-law first saw her at seven months old, and took her home from the hospital at nine months old. She frequently had pneumonia, ate through the G tube in her stomach for two years, and had physical therapy for her legs, and also had the hole in her heart fixed. She's perfectly healthy now, and my favorite person in the world.
What is the most recent thing you "can't believe"? I totally expect some smart aleck answers too, so go for it!

I just love hearing about that wonderful family. What marvellous parents to take on such a challenge. I know there is another little boy and, I think, a third child; all of whom have health issues. This is a lovely photo of you too. I would love to have your hair.

@JudyEv Absolutely. What is crazy is that she did worse to her first child, and he did get adopted after they took him away. But when she had Annelyn, they said, well, she hasn't abused this child, so we'll let her keep this baby. She has since had a third child, and this time the courts DID take that baby away.

That's great to hear how she is doing now....and it is crazy to see how fast time goes, and how fast kids grow up. And that is a great photo!
I can't believe, how fast time goes too...can't believe it's been so long since I graduated, can't believe it's been 10 years almost since my son was born, can't believe soon I will be married 11 years, and can't believe I lost my favorite uncle almost 20 years ago.

@AmbiePam Yes it was, especially because he took his own life. I don't know if I will ever get over that.
But the rest is all good of course, except time going by so fast lol

Bless her. I'm glad to hear that she is perfectly healthy now. Bless your sister for taking her in her life. God bless!
Both of you look adorable and Amyra's looking so cute, especially after losing those teeth.
Something I believe is how people change. In good times everyone wants to be part of your life and once you are having a bad time it's crazy how quickly people run away and pretend you don't exist.
A couple of years ago life was different we had a car we had money and most important my hubby had a good job. Every time his sister's husband Mr.R would call my hubby and they had a connection as if they were brothers.
Nowadays whenever they come over he completely ignores my husband and that really hurts him. The other day when he came over he lied saying he needs to go to the pharmacy. When my hubby went to the beach at a food stall where he applied for a job he saw Mr.R chilling at the beach alone. ( The thing is for the past 8 years every time he came over my hubby and he used to go to the beach together) Nowadays he goes alone lying that he is going pharmacy.
To me, I can't believe how he changed and treats my hubby differently.

You hardly look 37 in that photo - as pretty as ever And your niece looks cute with so many teeth missing
As for the 'can't believes' I have far too many -I cannot believe that it is 17 years ago that I had that ghastly road accident

Hola Amber, i miss talking with you, recent thing I can't believe? I do fine with my new business, I got a deal from my first client and more to come, still can't believe that I still got the power to convince people, after 5 years not working with someone else or big companies and doing it again like starting from zero, right? And still can't believe myself I can do it well
